I am saying: when the man was confronted by the gay red guards, he tried to say how understanding, how diverse, how accepting he was of “the LGBTQ cause” - and what did it get him?
I have no doubt Eich is a very smart, reasonable man who is respectful and sincere to all people he meets - and is also one who simply just does not believe in gay marriage (which is absolutely his right).
But his soft, soothing and apologetic tones to the gaystapo activists were taken by them as weakness and admission of guilt. His kindness helped him none at all with these radicals - they still got him fired immediately, and ran his name through the mud.
