When I was a teenager I used to pack the food away. I would have a couple of sandwiches from home and because I had a job I would buy a hot lunch and extras if I like the meal. I would hit the burger joints and have 2 double burgers along with the fries and coke. When I went into the service at 18 I was 6’ and weighed less than 150 lbs. I think the difference back in the 50’s and 60’s is that we were active. Constantly. We were always looking for a sandlot baseball or football game. We skated in the winter. We dug underground forts and tree houses. Even summer and week end jobs were active. If you burn the calories you are taking in then you won’t get fat.

We dug underground forts and tree houses.

Ever sharpen sticks on the sidewalk to use as swords, spears, or arrows?
