GCSE and A-level examinations could be brought forward for hundreds of thousands of pupils to avoid a clash with Ramadan under controversial proposals.
Teachers and lecturers in England and Wales are pushing for the summer exam timetable to be altered to help Muslim students who will be fasting when they sit papers.
School exam boards and universities are considering the radical shake-up from 2016, when the religious period of Ramadan clashes with the exam season.

The PC mentality and bowing to Muslims in the UK and USA is really ludicrous. Do they give other religions delays on exams because of their particular holidays?; NO.
How does a Muslim’s fasting during the daytime during Ramadann (sp?) have any effect on their test results?
PC regarding Muslims is totally out of control. Their terriorism apparently scares the crap out of governments that used to have some common sense, and don’t know how to say NO.

PS Life is an IQ test and any effort to ‘accomodate’ the intellectually deficient is foredoomed to failure.

The Muslims can have a big breakfast before sunrise, go into school, do their exams, and then go home to take a nap before having their after-sunset feast. Big deal.
Changing the exam date is only a bandaid on the problem, because Ramadan changes position in our calendar every year. It’s an inherent discrepancy between the lunar Islamic year and the solar Western year.
So, the only acceptable compromise will have to be the setting aside of the solar calendar and the universal adoption of the lunar calendar and Sharia law.
