‘Poison Spring’ details dirty EPA history (from treehugger POV)

Vallianatos’ complaints about the heavy influence that large corporations wield over the U.S. government and environmental policy won’t be news to anyone who follows the debates over genetically modified crops or the ingredients in popular cosmetics. What is surprising and depressing in “Poison Spring,” however, is when that influence began, especially over the regulation of pesticides.

Having lived as an adult through the genesis of all the "Environmental" laws, I am clearly aware of the original justification for their "need." Since then things have been warped beyond the clear, original intent.

At its inception, the concept was NOT suggesting primacy of bugs, bunnies and rocks over people."

That it became, eventually, exactly that justifies scratching the entire structure and starting over.

Most of the folks involved in hands-on “green energy” projects (low cost, low fuel requirements) and small farming projects are not surprised.
