Rob Lowe: 'I Want The Government Out Of Almost Everything'
Heritage.org ^ | 4/7/14 | Ericka Andersen

Posted on 04/07/2014 6:04:25 PM PDT by SoFloFreeper

Actor Rob Lowe identified himself as an “independent moderate” this weekend in an interview with the New York Times.

Lowe, a former Democrat, spoke about his views on government, saying:

“My thing is personal freedoms, freedoms for the individual to love whom they want, do with what they want. In fact, I want the government out of almost everything.”

The former teen heartthrob and current Parks and Recreation actor spoke negatively of political party loyalty as well:

“Belonging to one party is acceptable. But my days of just ticking the party box are long over. I judge the candidates for who they are.”

In the past, Lowe was rumored to be a conservative, even quoting in a 2009 interview the famous phrase, “If you’re young and you’re not a liberal, you have no heart. If you’re older and not a conservative, you have no brain.”

In a 2014 interview with David Gregory, Lowe clarified some of his views saying:

“Just my own world view is that the individual needs to be more responsible for their own lives and that’s not the conversation we’re having right now, for whatever reason.”

He also referenced President John F. Kennedy’s famous line, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country,” saying that “today . . . our discussion is the inverse . . . people are asking, ‘What can our government do for us?’”

This story was produced by The Foundry’s news team. Nothing here should be construed as necessarily reflecting the views of The Heritage Foundation.

Too late, Rob.

And the government doesn’t care what you or anyone else wants.

The government cares about what it wants.

That is all.

Norman Reedus got his start as a runway model. He’s very pretty when he’s not all dirty.

He especially wants the government to stop defining which girls are “underage” when he makes a sex tape.

I like the way you think! Mark Harmon was the UCLA quarterback when I was in college. He has always been a hunk!

” (when i have money i buy books... if i have anything left, i buy 6-inch heels and a bottle of wine...)

I like your tag line. I seem to recall once Dick Durbin said that exact thing.

What two adults do privately, not my business.

But don’t force me to celebrate it.

I'll drink to that. You couldn't have made it any simpler or any clearer.

His pulchritude derives from extreme sun avoidance. He’s also an artist with fillers. We, too, could have similarly flawless complexions if we even now, at this late stage, began to heed his sun shunning advice!

The fact he isn’t a typical Hollywood moonbat leftard is at least a positive.

I saw Rob Lowe in the early 80’s. He was bending over talking to people at the next table, his butt in my face. Slim, little guy with delicate features. You would not think he was sigh worthy.

In the early 90’s I talked to and had my picture with Mark Harmon. He was handsome and serious.

The lead guy in JAG had the best body, long legs, slender hips.

The best looking actor I’ve ever seen in person was Tom Selleck. Every time I saw him, he just stunned me.

It’s his humanity and quiet dignity I find so attractive.

Yes, I know he did. Personally I wouldn't call Reedus pretty, but it isn't him anyway---it's the character, Daryl.
