When members of Westboro Baptist Church showed up to picket Moore, Oklahoma, a town that was ravaged by a powerful tornado last year, they probably didn’t expect a reaction like this. Thousands of residents held a counter-protest across the street and eventually ran the Westboro members away.

Apparently they protested only 8 minutes before being run off.
Good thing those were Okie cops. Might have been different in NYC, LA, SF, etc.
It’s disheartening beyond words that people will stand up to Westboro but let the Gaystapo overrun city councils and state assemblies with their agenda.
I’m not convinced.
In this case they provoked an entire town - mission accomplished.
How wonderful. We feel great because low-hanging fruits were run off?
But when it comes to even worse groups actually stripping those people of constitutional rights, you can barely get people to get off their damn couches.

Al Gore was apparently the family's favorite Democrat. Phelps himself was a Gore delegate when he ran for president in 1988. The Phelpses even held a fundraiser for Gore in their Topeka, Kansas home. Their support paid off. The Phelps family was invited to the Clinton/Gore inaugurations in 1993 and 1997

Exactly what came to mind when I saw the video. You have to watch the double negatives even more so nowadays and make sense of what you’re actually seeing.
The Westboro folks achieved their goal though. They got you to notice, and you informed others. They are all lawyers and have no morals at all. Anything decent people do or say against them just keeps them going along on the same course. I don’t know what the answer is to people like this. It appears that they are trying to incite a violent response to their actions
As one of the first protesters was crossing the street, one of the legal thugs immediately put his hand on the but of his gun...Gonna shoot the good guys again, apparently...
