Field Poll: Californians like Obama much more than rest of nation does
San Jose Mercury News ^ | April 8, 2014 | By Josh Richman

As President Barack Obama's job approval ratings continue to flounder nationwide, he can still look to California for affirmation.

A new Field Poll found 53 percent of California voters approve of Obama's job performance while 41 percent disapprove. That's nearly the opposite of the nation as a whole, where an average of major polls now finds a 53 percent disapproval and 43 percent approval -- not his all-time low, but nothing to brag about either.

Among California Democrats, 80 percent approve of Obama's job performance and 15 percent disapprove; among Republicans, 80 disapprove and 16 percent approve. Nonpartisans and third-party voters fall in between, with 49 percent approving and 41 percent disapproving.

I live 2 miles south of that intersection!

The demographics haven't changed much in our two little cities but everywhere else they have. Heck when, I was a kid "B-1 Bob" Dornan was our rep. The chance of a GOP congressman here now is about zero. Paradise has been handed to the libs through massive immigration (and internal migration).

Still, I love our 'hood. Biked on the strand with the kids today. Hope to get back on the surfboard as soon as it's tolerable in a spring suit.

Howdy, Neighbor! I am new here, less than two years, but this seems to be the most perfect spot on the planet. I don’t know if we can afford it long term.

Everyone and their dog were out surfing today in the perfect weather.

I knew this place would be crawling with libs but I fell madly in love. Then the election happened and there were 5 Romney signs on my lil block! Hope eternal. Seems a lot of people work hard here so they get it.

Yep, he could be coming out of a cheap motel room with Reggie Love, a duck and a chicken and they still vote for him

53 percent is low. He barely has a majority there.

Nice view, enjoy it while you can. In 10 years you will be overrun by illegals and all you will see is trash and delapidated buildings. You wont be able to go into the water because of the illegal fishing pongas and all the lost lines and hooks, not to mention the raw sewage running down the gutters onto your beautiful beach.
Much like Punta Banda and Rosarito on the Pacific side and Los Angeles over on the gulf side.
Just a note to those who don't know, the interior plumbing in the houses and hotels runs down to the beaches, and the septic tanks are made out of old tires.
