The good thing is that since this happens in Africa from time to time I’m sure they’ve made plans for it. They’ve trained people and set up facilities. They won’t be turning to the United States and other Western countries, right?

Or, possibly, Panarrhea because some degree of loose bowels will be included in the symptoms. Even if it’s just from, “I’ve got WHAT?!”

Believe me, that would be enough.
This stuff scares the heck out of me.
Global warming? Poof.
Rampant deadly plague with no cure and a high
mortality rate? Yep, nature’s answer to
over population, probably a war besides.

Cauterize the effected area with a limited nuclear strike. End of story.

Wasnt there a movie like that? Yes, there was. In "Outbreak," they used a fuel-air explosive to wipe out an entire African village.

back in the days, villages just imposed quarantines, no on in (or out, sometimes) one chief is quoted as sayin " I do not fear much, but I do fear smallpox" Bowen's Return to Laughter Nukes ... not trying to be funny, but they sound like overkill

Quarantine sounds like the more sane alternative to me, provided it can be kept. Of course, there is a good chance those who violate it will bring something with them. If they could be isolated from ‘outside’ and from inside the village, at least until it was determined they were clean, that might be a better option than just sealing the healthy in with the sick. However, that takes a lot of manpower, cooperation, and logistics to keep any size of population isolated for a couple of weeks (think shelter, food, water, sanitation).
