Obama targets climate change in wildfire strategy
The Hill ^ | April 9, 2014 | By Timothy Cama

The Obama administration released a comprehensive strategy document Wednesday aimed at reducing wildfires, which it says are being exacerbated by climate change.

The strategy recommends preventive measures like controlled burns, municipal and state zoning to reduce the effects of sprawl and incorporating watersheds into local management plans.

“As climate change spurs extended droughts and longer fire seasons, this collaborative wildfire blueprint will help us restore forests and rangelands to make communities less vulnerable to catastrophic fire,” said Jack Boots, acting chairman of the Council on Environmental Quality.

The deceit of this gang never ceases to surprise. After exacerbating wildfire incidence through poor management practices they now want to blame it all on global warming and increase their footprint and authority to do even more harm.

All this stuff is already being done. Maybe they should hire one of those guys who used to go around claiming to be a rainmaker.

It's called forestry. And clearing trails.

Re-establish the CCC camps and get some work out of these lazy kids.

Or use prisoners instead of letting them sit around on their butts.......and put chains on their legs.

“As climate change spurs extended droughts and longer fire seasons, ...,” said Jack Boots, acting chairman of the Council on Environmental Quality.

Just a bald-faced lie.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

Damn enviro-whackos caused the “increase” in destructive wildfire’s by opposing controlled burn. Now, the idiots in charge have come up with a brilliant strategy to combat wildfires. Controlled burning.

Is this from the Onion?

Envirowienies will not allow controlled burns. They tie them up in court nearly every time. The Forest Service today gets stopped nearly every time they propose controlled burns for fire prone areas.

Politicians will not limit “sprawl”, it is part of their and their supporter’s cash cow. Not gonna let that land just sit there when millions of dollars can be pocketed by developing it.

What a load - the Gummn’t has 100+ years of doing everything in its power to prevent forest burns and what do you expect.

Additionally, all the tree huggers who build houses in the middle of the forest and do no mitigation haven’t helped. [Are you one of them? Go to Firewise.org and read up on it.]

As a friend in the Idaho Dept of Forestry recently said: “We’d be lots better off if we stood out front of Home Depot and gave away a free chainsaw to every Tom, Dick, and Harry with a pickup truck and told ‘em to cut all they wanted in the forest.”
