I can't really disagree except to point out that the cold war was a great experience for me. I really enjoyed my time in Germany, and I got "laid off" by the end of the cold war. (I wasn't allowed to extend and was forced to pcs back to the US)
I'd like to see this younger generation get the opportunity to experience Poland, just like I did in Germany.
My son served 3 tours in Iraq and just got back from Afghanistan. I was thrilled when he told me that he was going to Germany for 3 years. Finally I thought he would be out of harms way. Guess I was wrong.
Tourism is still a thriving business in Europe and some tours are affordable too.
