Too bad we all can’t stop paying taxes, like gas taxes, when the money is no longer being used for its intended purpose. He is a taker that is using public resources without compensation for his personal economic benefit. They should have stopped him from doing this years ago.

The opinion that they are just squatters gets blown out of the water by her words. They are more than that and can’t be dismissed like that. Their family’s been there for multiple generations.

Not only that, but he's being cheap on being cheap. Fees on public lands (BLM and Forest Service) are $1.35 per animal unit month (AUM - cow and calf counts as one). My understanding is that fees for this same animal unit month on private grazing land is around 4 times that, but I'm still trying to find a source on private fees, as they, well, change due to market conditions. The state of Arizona charges about $2.40/AUM on state trust land. The fed rate is really low.

I have to wonder if you have ever spent time in this area. Desolate and remote, very dry, little vegetation. A few hundred cows spread across hundreds of square miles. Dirt bikes roar across this desert at 80MPH. There are no fences, it is open range.

A person can drive on two lane roads and not see another car or a building for many miles.
