A woman was taken into custody after throwing what she described as a shoe at Hillary Clinton during a Las Vegas speech.

The incident happened moments after Clinton took the stage Thursday at an Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries meeting at the Mandalay Bay hotel-casino.

Clinton ducked but did not appear to be hit by the object, and then joked about it.

"Is that somebody throwing something at me? Is that part of Cirque de Soleil?" Clinton quipped.

She added: "My goodness, I didn't know that solid waste management was so controversial. Thank goodness she didn't play softball like I did."

Clearly symbolic.

She has stepped in a huge pile of obama and she’s about to be hit with it.

From another article:

A piece of paper apparently thrown by the woman at Hillary Clinton was recovered after the speech. An Associated Press reporter described the paper as, “a copy of a Department of Defense document labeled confidential and dated August 1967; it referred to an operation ‘Cynthia’ in Bolivia.”

Operation Cynthia was a 1967 effort involving 2,500 Bolivian troops to capture revolutionary leader Che Guevara.

What “Operation Cynthia” has to do with Hillary Clinton, who was a 19-year-old undergraduate at Wellesley College when it took place, was not made clear.

What the heck?

Fake beyond belief.

And if not...what difference does it make?

Info on making a citizens arrest.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizen’s_arrest#State_statutes

Lots of nut cases have tried this on personages like Dick Cheney, who belted the guy. Various Bush officials were harassed by attempted citizen’s arrests. It’s mostly a tactic used by lunatic fringe groups.

In my opinion I’d never attempt it as I have no way to restrain somebody and they aren’t going to hang around if you just threaten them. It’s either shoot them or call the cops and let them handle it. The only reason I’d even try it was to protect myself or others from harm. But if they moved towards I’d shoot. (In theory) If they moved away and nobody had been killed, I’d let them go.

A citizen is on shaky ground here. Unless you have money to burn on lawyers, don’t try.

The whole thing smells like a Clinton scripted “event”. She acted almost as if she expected it to happen.

Yep. Hillary coming up with "Thank goodness she didn't play softball like I did" is about ten times too calculatedly identity connected with young feminist former softball playing female voters to be believeable.

But what do you expect from old fingerprints and her policy wonk team of roaches and neurolinguistic psychopaths?

Likely a plant for the snappy lie about her playing softball. Maybe in junior high PE. Maybe.

Just like that gunfire which just missed she and Miz Chelsea on the tarmac in Bosnia...which, of course was another lie.

This got about 10 seconds of coverage on ABC News tonight. When it happened to Bush - I seem to recall days of coverage, analysis of why the Bush policies caused the rest of the world to hate America, etc., etc. With Hilary - the press collectively yawns.
