On MSNBC last night, host Alex Wagner continued her ongoing leave the IRS alone theme with a defense of the organization and its key players that tread into the territory of virtuosity in the art of reversing the spin. Not only, Wagner would have you believe, is the IRS not guilty of anything, not only were conservative groups not harmed or hampered in any way, but in fact it is the IRS who is truly the victim of unjust targeting. They are not the aggressor but the innocent victim, the simple, plainspoken agency that gosh darnit just wants to do its job for America and cant because Republican meanwiches.
The highlights: [video]
Wagner spends a great deal of time in the heady throes of indignant hysterics. Throwing around terms like shameless, circus, and witch hunt. Republicans, she reasonably explains, are following Darrell Issa on a dark mission. Are you scared yet?

Alex Wagner... now there’s a name that will never face a tax audit.
The Obama IRS has become the muscle of Eric Holder’s Gestapo.
The sooner that the IRS is abolished and replaced with a 9-9-9 flat tax, the better.
De-Fang the Federal Government:
ABOLISH THE IRS!
This is why I hope MSNBC doesn’t die away, regardless of the fact only dozens tune in at any given time. Their entertainment value is just too rich!
Oh Lord.
Yup.
Perhaps MS Wagner may wish to reconsider bring Tail Gunner Joe into her muck wracking defense of the indefensible and illegal (as in criminal felony) IRS actions.
BTW, after the breakdown of the Soviet Union led to the disclosure of the extent of Soviet spying and government Communist infiltration, there was direct evidence that Joe McCarthy not only was correct in warnings to the American people, he vastly understated the size and severity of the problem of Communist infiltration .
It also showed Alger Hiss was guilty as sin and that he and his family made total fools of an entire generation of liberal defenders and apologists
She must fear an audit.
The IRS, of all government agencies, probably should be subject to more scrutiny than any of the others. ANY whisper of scandal or failure to administer their own regulations in a scrupulously honest and transparent manner should be reason enough for both citizen and Congressional oversight, with criminal prosecutions for malfeasance or politically motivated preferential treatment.
The regulations themselves should be open to review, to assure they actually do comply with laws passed that provide the claimed authorization.
Of all agencies that should be rigidly protected from political influence peddling and corruption, this one should be held up as the example for all others to follow.
If the IRS can get away with concealing lapses or selectively enforcing the law, then there just isn’t much left.
MSNBC is solid.
They’re owned by a cable company (Comcast) that makes $4 billion/yr in profits and run by Obama supporter Brian Roberts.
“Ideology over profits”
yes
and ban all government except for military and border control and courts (local and federal)
government is the enemy and the problem. the news media and democrat party are also the enemy and the problem
If you made $100,000 per year after taxes then you could buy anything you could ever need in the free market because someone would produce it for money( look at the millions of products for sale on Google , internet , ebay , amazon,Walmart, Dollar Tree etc etc). So we dont need government for ANYTHING. private industry created a whole city DISNEY WORLD in Florida. So democrats create fake crisis like global warming,no health insurance crisis to justify the very existence of government and the continued growth of government(socialism)
