“When I was 26 and pregnant with my first child, I had several older (35-55) women tell me I was too young”
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

My, my, what a change from my day! When I was 23 I had a 60 year old coworker ask me, “What is wrong with you?” She was astounded to learn that at age 23 I was still single. By the time I was finally married a week after my 28th everyone had given up on me, they were convinced I would be a lifelong bachelor.

When I was in graduate school, I would often receive emails from the “women’s graduate student group”, inviting me to meetings to talk about female concerns. These were pressing concerns like post-abortion support—I don’t remember the others, but not a single one was a topic that I, a wife and mother tackling a tough major in graduate school, even remotely cared about.

Needless to say, I never went. I bet most of the participants were radical young feminazis pursuing graduate education in one of the laundry list of leftist topics that almost never leads to employment.

Thank you! Good reading.

Snaggletooth is a traditionalist? That’s a big surprise! She’s one I could possibly tolerate some puffing for.

No.

Beef Stew actually means stew... with beef and carrots and taters and stuff.

If there is a toss up between beef stew and the other, I am at the age now where I really would have to stop and consider each option.
My wife and I have a real healthy ‘other’. But dangit she makes a mean beef stew too.

That makes me feel a lot better. There’s something about “Hey, Baby, let’s make some beef stew tonight,” that would kill the mood for anything other than actually cooking on a stove with beef and carrots and half a bottle of wine and such.
