...Obama and first lady Michelle Obama attended the Broadway revival of "A Raisin in the Sun," a play about an African-American family in 1950s Chicago.

The play, which stars Denzel Washington, capped a rare evening out in New York for the first couple. They were in the city for activist Al Sharpton's National Action Network conference, which the president addressed earlier Friday.

The presidential motorcade froze traffic out of Times Square....

There USED TO BE A TIME in this nation’s history when the media would CRITICIZE an Oval Office occupant for partying it up during a time of such economic distress.

Then Obama appeared.

Cult much, media?

Must be nice to have all the equimpment at his command to whistle up a trip whenever he so decides. I despise this POS beyond description. Of course he would fly off to see some race based play and then off to visit Sharpton’s racist group. I am also POed I am paying for this.

I think the Congress ought to pass a law making him toast openly to the “god of gold, silver, bronze, iron, and stone”.

It would make sense as he’s a modern day Belshazzar, partying and enjoyjng the fruits of his title while doing none of the work his responsibilities entail.

This article made me laugh. 30 people deep in Times Square? Sounds like a normal day. Kind of like "Bridgegate." When isn't there is a traffic jam at the GW Bridge?

It is NY!

I wonder how the Play portrayed the life of blacks in the 50’s, I know this much, at that time blacks where still made up of mostly solid hard working families.

It costs us $10 to $20 dollars to see a movie these days.
A Broadway production?
Forget about it - No way the average family can afford tickets.

But when Goofy and Moochie go to the theater it costs taxpayers a million dollars and more.

But what is money to our Ghetto Royalty?

You're right. It looked like a typical Friday night in Times Square . . . and given this was the first warm Friday evening in 5 months I'm not surprised the sidewalks were packed.

I was only two blocks away in the balcony of the Lyceum Theatre . . . utterly unaware of Bammy's presence. Life is good.
