What authority does the First Lady have to impose her will on the lunch menus of public schools?

None, and that’s what these kids are setting out to prove.

This could catch on! I can envision nationwide rallies with kids burning their lunch cards.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. How does she have so much power? And you have to be crazy to think that a 6’4” young man with a large build needs the same nutrition as a 5’ young woman. The whole thing is just nuts!

Will the kid’s parents receive a visit from the IRS now?

This is the same group that brought you health care that requires men and 60 year old women to pay for insurance for their medical care when they are having a baby

That’s what I would like to know. She wasn’t elected. She was just part of the baggage. Where did she get the authority to destroy the school lunch program?

This is what happens when more government is the answer to every question. Government programs leave no room for judgement or exceptions. One size fits all.

The truth be known, there are high school kids who should be taking 6000 calories a day and others who should be getting 1500.

Have to agree with you Essie. My son it 6’4 and a weight lifter, going to be a physical therapist, built real solid now. He says the school lunch is more like a snack for him, and a crappy one at that! LOL

The second best option would be to stop eating school lunches, but that wouldn't put pressure on those who take orders from thugs.

The best option is social media: choose 2-3 days a week to bring-your-own-lunch, and the other days of the week stand in line for the Michelle-approved slop, making the decision that morning via Twitter. That will lead to a lot of inedible food getting thrown away on the days they BYO, and major losses of money as the cafeterias are unable to cover the costs of wasted food.

“How does she have so much power?”

The answer is quite obvious. She has the power because PEOPLE GIVE IT TO HER. There is no law that requires schools to answer to the federal government when it comes to their lunch menu - but there is a price you pay if you want money from the feds for school lunches.

We’re complaining to the wrong people. She would be POWERLESS if local school districts simply told her to take a hike, and ran their lunch programs by either using taxes (if they really think they need to subsidize) or simply charging kids for the food. If the kids don’t have the money (mom spent it on drugs again, for example), then the kids don’t eat - no different than today, when they get a Michelle-meal and throw it out anyway.

Wanna bet that better food in greater quantities will be offered to students who volunteer to work for the regime?

Growing children need different types of food than silly middle aged liberal women. Our First Lady should know this ... she needs to dump her liberal elite advisers and talk to her mother (and kids) about this one...
