My guess is a simple one, the government backed off because the story was spinning out of control and it was becoming increasingly toxic as evidence of Harry Reid's corruption was gaining press.

It's one thing for Democrats to look the other way when the Majority Leader of the Senate lines his sons' pockets and quite another when the story assumes the dimensions of a national scandal.

RE: Harry Reid's corruption was gaining press

That's true or rather it should be true. I did a google News search for, Harry Reid Bundy.

I got almost 50 hits (w/option to see duplicates and all) sorted on recent to oldest date.. for the dates current through 11 April the closest to a MSM employee was the LV Review-Journal, the Examiner (Washington, D.C. I believe) and LV CBS. Everything else was the alternate media it seemed to me.

BTW I did not check the the Examiner and LV CBS but the R-J article mention of Reid had nothing to do with scandal. It was that he was not on the scene and there was a link about him to an unrelated story.

How many times will Reid's name be mentioned vis-a-vis BLM on the MSM talk shows today? My guess is zero. I have no TV so I'll be spared the outrage. :)
