The present Ukrainian government rose to power by coup, and is no more legitimate than the pro-Russian East Ukrainians now referred to as “terrorists.” None of this is any of our business.

"The present Ukrainian government rose to power by coup,

Just like the good old USofA, only they did it quicker and with a lot less blood spilt (so far).

““Budapest Memorandum” Signed in May,1994 Commit U.S., Britain To Defend Ukraine”

A promise from Bill Clinton, never ratified by Congress, that really isn’t worth the paper it was printed on, especially with a weakling like Obama in the White House.

TRANSLATION:
FINALLY: Putin’s ultimatum Europe and Ukraine

There was a meeting of the President of Russia with the Cabinet.

Such meetings with the presence of cameras and journalists held for signaling exact Moscow time and is therefore particularly interesting. I recommend to read carefully. Many things and figures voiced at the meeting, all known for a long time and not once voiced. Today, they were once again repeated with a definite purpose.

What was said:

1. The EU.

The Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU created the threat is not so much the economy of Ukraine, as the Russian economy. Almost IMMEDIATELY after the signing began to uncontrolled Russian market duty-free European products and those of third countries that would immediately painful blow to Russian producers. Moreover, Ukraine was forced to break with Russia tens and hundreds of agreements contrary to the terms of the association. As a result, the association carries a dual threat is Russia - in fact, it would destroy the bilateral mutually beneficial trade and industry in Russia and Ukraine, and would have led to the ousting of Russian goods goods European and third countries.

We wanted at a good, human. We tried to negotiate. The proposed compromise and constructive suggestions were rejected by the EU.
European officials have rested as goats, sheep posing . Or vice versa ...
Sorry. Will be poor.

2. Ukraine.

Despite all the difficulties in the relationship, despite all the anti-Russian and anti-Russian rhetoric was independent Ukraine Government, we performed all obligations and all links, thus providing the industry of Ukraine orders worth 15 billion dollarovzhivymi money. All advances are paid on time and in full.

Do you want at a good - will in any way. Russia is ready to abandon the Ukrainian production. Completely.

3. Slightly Europe and Ukraine.

Ukraine has no gas. AND WIL NOT. Will release exactly as much as paid per month.
For transit to Europe for the season autumn-winter 14/15 UGS Ukraine need to upload gas at $ 4-5 billion .

If Ukraine can not find these billion by autumn Europe will remain without gas.

4. Ukraine and the EU slightly .

The total amount of debt that may be brought against Ukraine, at 16.6 billion dollars.

Putin: I hope that the initiative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to equalize the situation, change it for the better will have consequences, and the result will be positive. Anyway, I hope temporarily performing obyazannostirazlichnyh levels not done there is nothing that cannot be corrected.

Now add up.

Acting at various levels, as politely called Vladimir Vladimirovich government brought the situation to the brink, after the transition which many can no longer be corrected.

Everything is the limit.

Now the U.S. or EU + + Ukraine immediately must take Russian conditions and immediately begin to implement our initiatives MFA

or ...

- Russia abandons all industrial orders in Ukraine. Ukraine’s losses amount to $15 billion annually. And irrevocably.
- Russia has closed its borders to Ukrainian goods and goods in transit through Ukraine.
- Ukraine Russia closes the gas valve.
- Ukraine Russia exposes requirements cover debts amounting to $ 16.6 billion .
- Russian gas to Europe is not guaranteed for next autumn / winter to pay the missing volumes in UGS Ukraine in the amount of $ 5 billion.

In fact this is an ultimatum.

And not only an ultimatum to the Ukraine Govenment but the European Union. The rest (U.S. and NATO) everything was lucidly indicated earlier.

This is the last chance to save the opportunity to rectify the situation. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that everyone understands this.

The Ukrainians are wising up but have yet to admit and declare this is strictly about shale oil. The Russians dropped the price to deter shale oil development and exploration. There are three countries outside of Russia whuch have extensive finds. Romaina, Ukraine, and Poland. If by seizure and threat Putin and his merry band of Olys, (which also include some leading German politicans btw) can deter that from happening he’ll be sitting very pretty with the european market.

The Budapest Memorandum was never intended as a treaty and was never submitted for Senate ratification, so it is meaningless. And since Ukraine is not a NATO member, there is no back door mutual defense obligation, either. You keep bringing up the Budapest Memorandum, but it was and remains a cynical and hollow promise — just like NATO’s promise to Moscow that that NATO would not expand eastward if Russian troops were withdrawn from former Soviet bloc countries.

It was the Ukraine version of the Dayton Accords, ultimately useless, and ultimately hastened the breakup of Yugoslavia....yet another “proud” Clinton moment.

I don’t think shale oil is unimportant, but there is much more at stake from a strategic standpoint than oil in Ukraine. Russia went to war against Georgia in 2008 to halt NATO’s expansion in the Black Sea. Now in 2014, the coup in Kiev has forced Russia to protect its strategic position in Crimea from NATO expansion. The logical followup for Russia is to consolidate its vital land bridge to Crimea and the Black Sea through eastern Ukraine. Our adventurism has forced Russia’s defensive counter moves, and Putin would be derelict if he didn’t do what he is doing.

I bring up & will continue to bring up the Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances because I believe the U.S.A. should function with integrity in international politics.

This is a political agreement was to provide security assurances by its signatories relating to Ukraine’s accession to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

At first, only signed by three nuclear powers, the Russian Federation, the U.S.A, and the United Kingdom. But, later, China and France gave assurances in separate documents.

This memorandum included security assurances against threats or use of force against the TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY OR POLITICAL INDEPENDENCE of Ukraine as well as those of Belarus and Kazakhstan. Ukraine kept their word give up the 3rd largest nuclear weapons stockpile in the world. No... I WILL continue to bring up this ethical & moral obligation!

Incidentally, U.S.A, Canada and U.K. all separately stated that Russian involvement is “IN BREACH AND CLEAR VIOLATION OF ITS OBLIGATIONS TO UKRAINE” of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity under the Budapest Memorandum.

BTW, I just heard Russian BLOOGERS supporting Ukraine are being threatened by Russia for reporting accurate info vs. Russia disinformation.

Please pray for Ukraine

Our founders drafted our Constitution to make it very difficult to enter into treaties, which are so dangerous because they supersede the Constitution itself. No president has ever had the authority -- legal or moral -- to commit the United States of America to any binding agreement without two-thirds approval of that proposed agreement by the United States Senate.

In his farewell address, President George Washington exhorted our young nation to "avoid entangling alliances" with other nations, understanding that such alliances ultimately lead to war that not all parties want to wage. The founders were very wise set such a high bar to passage of treaties, and we should be grateful to them.

We're in the same boat, except that mine is "only" almost 90 with non-Alzheimer dementia. It is very hard, and I wish you well.
