Al Jazeera America, which launched last August with nearly 850 employees and 12 news bureaus in the United States, has laid off dozens of employees as part of restructuring. The channel is disbanding its sports unit and scaling back its social-media-driven show The Stream from a daily show to a once-a-week program.

I agree with you. If you want any news from around the world, this is just about the only place to get it. Not horribly biased. No Islamic jihadi stuff. It’s not bad. Compared to other networks, it’s actually good. .
OK...I had alerted earlier #9 that a show was going to be on SUN night for 4 weeks called ‘BORDERLAND’
I ‘watched’ the first segment and it is 6 Americans ‘investigating’ the border in AZ.
It consists of 3 ANTI ILLEGALS, a White Blonde (F) from AR who is the leader of the Arkansas Young Republicans, a Black (F) entrepreneur from NV (a NYC 9/11 survivor) and a former White Marine and Constitution Party US Leader from IL.(Randy Stufflebeam)
The PRO side consisted of a White Artist(M) from NY who believes in NO BORDERS ANYWHERE, a White Farmer from WA (M) who admits to hiring Hispanics to harvest his crops (they also throw in he is R in most ways) and a Nicaraguan Activist from FL (F) (she was naturalized a year before the filming).
They start by visiting a morgue in the Tucson area, visit a ranch and assist a border group that distributes water and food for the ‘stragglers’.
The ‘task’ ends up being they split the six up and send them to the hometowns etc to ‘track’ 3 of the people who had died in the desert and ‘get their story’.
So far, it is balanced, with each getting to rebut a statement so neither ‘side’ gets to ‘get a leg up’.
Till now, the most boisterous are the Black Female, the Marine and the Nicaraguan activist....
Like I said, balanced so far....
