UKRAINE IS UNITED: President Turchynov’s address to the people of Ukraine
Euromaidan PR ^ | April 13, 2014 | Acting President of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov

Address of the Acting President of Ukraine, Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov to the People of Ukraine

Dear fellow citizens!

Today is a great Christian holiday — the day of our Lord’s entry into Jerusalem. When he entered the city, all greeted him with “Hosannas” and threw clothing and palm branches under his feet. And in a few days, these same people demanded his crucifixion.

Unfortunately, today this celebration is marred by aggression and blood. One day ago, coordinated terrorist troops of the Russian Federation seized control of police and other administrative buildings in several cities of the Donetsk Oblast.

This event was especially dangerous in the city of Slovyansk, where professionally trained criminals dressed in Russian camouflage and armed with Russian automatic weapons did their work.

This morning they fired automatic weapons on the column of law enforcement units that were responsible for defending citizens on this festive Sunday. These criminals let out a barrage of fire while hiding behind a living shield of local residents, who had been deceived by Russian propaganda.

During this operation, the captain of the special Alpha unit of Interior Services, Hennadiy Bilichenko, was killed. The commander of the Alpha unit Colonel Kuznetsov and colonel Kuksa of the Security Services were seriously injured. Also injured was Selikhov, an employee of Interior Services.

The blood of Ukrainian heroes was shed for our land, for our one and only, sovereign, indivisible Ukraine.

Blood was shed in a war conducted against Ukraine by the Russian Federation. The aggressor does not stop and continues to organize unrest in the East of our country.

This is not a war between Ukrainians. This is an artificially created confrontation designed to weaken and destroy Ukraine itself. Eventually, however, it will weaken our enemies. Russia today is condemned by the entire civilized world. We have done everything to avoid casualties, but we are prepared to resist all attempts at invasion, destabilization, and armed terrorist attacks.

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has decided to launch a large-scale anti-terrorist operation jointly with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We will not allow Russia to repeat the Crimean scenario in the eastern regions of Ukraine.

Those who have not fired on our security forces and who agree to put down their arms and vacate administrative buildings by Monday morning, will be amnestied. I have signed a decree to give guarantees against the implementation of appropriate punishment for past actions.

We are ready to consider granting significant empowerment to the regions and to implement broad reforms for greater local self-government as well as the renewal of local government.

However, anyone who engages in armed struggle against our country in support of the aggressors will not escape punishment and responsibility.

I appeal to all fellow citizens in the East of our country. Do not become tools in a cynical and foreign war against your own country. Do not support those who wish to destroy peace and tranquility and who are thrusting your region into the abyss of economic catastrophe, the abyss of civil conflict.

I appeal to those who want to protect Ukraine. It is essential not to destabilize the situation in Ukraine and not to collaborate with the enemy and his agents, whose sole purpose is to disrupt the elections, to overthrow the government, and to create chaos and lawlessness.

I appeal to every Ukrainian. In the face of foreign aggression, we must unite. We must all do everything possible so that we put an end to the panic and stop dragging society into civil conflict. Only together, certain of each other’s support, will we overcome all our current problems. I believe that will happen.

May God bless Ukraine and each one of us.

“Russia is the great evil because they did bad things in the past”

Deflections.

Present day. Russia annexing land illegally is supported by all conservatives...never.

Are snipers used to create a crisis for a false flag event supported by conservatives? And there was no investigation to find out who the snipers were? Really?

Wonder how much support the “appointed” leadership will have once the Ukrainians get the bill for their EU membership? When they find out the EU has enough wagon riders already and are need of more people to pull? Better get those elections done quickly before they mail that invoice.

Our government is pulling cards from the bottom of their own house of cards. They are thinking they are still the biggest and baddest country on the planet. Our foreign policy is driving China, Russia and likely India into an economy where the dollars in no longer needed. Once the house of cards goes poof, you had better hope you have converted the dollars to something you can eat, trade or items to protect what you have.

Both sides produce propaganda. Did you notice the source of this thread? PR firm needed to get the story out?

I used to know who the good guys and bad guys were. At least I thought I did until my government in the United States of America began to no longer know what the truth was and every word was a lie. Our government is busy replacing leaders and installing the ones they think are good. How would they know what good is when so many things they do are so evil?

Treasury Secretary Lew Announces Signing Of $1 Billion U.S. Loan Guarantee Agreement For Ukraine

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew announced the signing of a $1 billion loan guarantee agreement for Ukraine. This guarantee, when completed, will complement the Government of Ukraine’s International Monetary Fund (IMF) reform program and underscores the United States’ commitment to Ukraine.

(Did they pass the IMF reform to find out what was in it?)

“The Ukrainian people have demonstrated tremendous courage as they have charted an independent course for their country and demanded a government that truly reflects the will of the people. The United States has been at the forefront of building international support for Ukraine, and holding Russia accountable for its violation of Ukrainian sovereignty and destabilizing action,” said Secretary Lew in his remarks at the U.S. Treasury Department today. “I would like to congratulate Minister Shlapak on the progress he and his team have made in putting in place a comprehensive economic reform program together with the IMF. The United States very much wants to see Ukraine prosper, and we will continue to stand with the Ukrainian people as they move forward to realize their long-held aspirations.”

The $1 billion loan guarantee is part of a U.S. bilateral assistance package that also includes technical assistance to help Ukraine return to a path of economic recovery.

(We’re damned awesome when it comes to showing other countries how to do economic recoveries!)

This loan guarantee will bolster the Government of Ukraine’s ability to provide critical services as it implements reforms, while protecting the most vulnerable Ukrainian households from the impact of the necessary economic adjustment.

(Wait, there will be economic adjustments? Which way are you adjusting our economy? Up, right? Right?)

Secretary Lew and Ukrainian Finance Minister Oleksandr Shlapak held a bilateral meeting before today’s announcement to discuss the ongoing situation in Ukraine and Ukraine’s progress on its economic reform plan.

(This is free right?)

The United States will continue to urge its international partners to take immediate steps to bolster the IMF assistance package and move forward with bilateral aid and technical assistance.

Only a Jack Boot licker or a total ignoramus would need an investigation to see the obvious. Which are you?

They didn’t seem to want an investigation. Not one of the snipers was caught. No pictures of the snipers.

Why is an appointed “president” deciding the fate of the Ukrainians by making deals with the EU and the IMF? Shouldn’t they have elections so that the people have some say before they are consigned into servitude to the IMF?

Not one of the snipers was caught.

I think it was Lutsenko (former minister of the Internal Affairs) that gave a figure of a thousand Berkut soldiers who left the country. Very many were from Crimea, they were getting Russian passports after they fled from Kiev. Very brotherly from the Russians.

No pictures of the snipers.

Could've sworn I saw a sniper here

Shouldn’t it be Ukrainians themselves who have this discussion? Wtf is Russia even involved here?

It’s like if during the American Civil War, the British Empire launched an invasion, trying to recapture the lost territory

The 'legitimate' president didn't show up for work, somebody had to step in

Shouldn’t they have elections so that the people have some say before they are consigned into servitude to the IMF?

Ukraine's desperately trying to hold on till the May 25 elections, Russia's desperately trying to spoil it. With Party of Regions in shambles, Russians in Crimea not in the electorate, it would be very hard for Putin to get the right result in the elections.

McGruff your maps are pretty but close to meaning less. Our election maps show Red vs blue but all are citizens of U.S. The Eastern Ukraine has industry and economics linked to Russia. You need to understand.. many, many ethnic Russians purposely MOVED to Ukraine!

We just gave them a billion dollar loan guarantee to pay their gas bill. In some universe that is defined as free. Not the one I inhabit.

The IMF granted Ukraine a $16.4 billion loan in October 2008, of which the government had far received $10.6 billion in May 2010. Further payments were frozen late 2009 after Ukraine raised minimum wages and pensions contrary to IMF recommendations.

The EU/IMF path leads to slavery to the bankers supplying the loans who then call the shots on how they manage their economy. The IMF have such a good track record of getting economies on their feet and building prosperity with countries getting out of debt and being prosperous once again.

Kidding on that last part.

“Russia is the great evil because they did bad things in the past” Says the country that cleared a continent of inhabitants that stood in their way of free land. Free land that they said their god had provided for them. Said the country that put people on trains to assist in breaking the spirit of the resistance by indiscriminately slaughtering the remaining buffalo and letting them rot in great piles. The natives deprived of food and starving looked at the piles of rotting meat and wondered at the heart of the people that were capable of this.

So how's the weather in Moscow, Comrade? Does Putin pay you extra for spreading this moral relativism, the United States is basically a Nazi state BS on FR?

Clue time Dufus, Russia is responsible for the death of more people than even the Nazis. The soviet structures of that country have not been destroyed, but are still very much in force with Putin being its visible representative. Innocent people are murdered in Russia every day, people robbed of their properties, robbed of their lives, silenced and beaten and denigrated, and you, you vile dufus, are trying to make us no different than the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany? Bugger off you fool.

Crimea voted. No guns were held to their head.

How is the new State department job? Got to love those benefits.

Our government knows more about your habits, your life and your deepest secrets. Most of the governments around the would are quite envious of NSA, FBI’s reach.

When one doesn’t have enough criminals, one makes them. The average person in the USA commits 3 felonies a day. How does it feel? To lose your voting rights, you just need to be convicted of one.

Our state department and their goons stuck their nose into Ukraine’s business when the Russians offered them a better deal than the IMF bankers and the EU. When it was apparent that they we going to take the deal Russia was offering, our goons helped topple a government.(Again) 99% of the mainstream media is happily regurgitating the party line that Russia is a big bad evil country. Keep drinking deep. Registering Jews done by the Russian supporting people in Eastern Ukraine? GMAFB. Keep reading those mainstream media reports so you can cheer on your team that is wreaking havoc around the world. Somebody wants a war badly. It really doesn’t appear to be Putin. Maybe they want to “stimulate” the economy?

America’s dark government is out of control and even Diane Feinstein can’t get them to stop.

A stupid statement that reveals your ignorance of the fine details of the Crimean take over. The current Prime Minister was a member of a fringe party with only 3 members. He became PM by walking into the Rada followed by men carrying grenade launchers and machine guns. His confirmation votes include votes from members who claim they weren’t even present. Next, the referendum itself, there are videos of children Voting, prefilled in ballots, and, of course, a dead tortured body of a fellow seen carried off. He was protesting against the take over. Your claim, therefore, is hopelessly ignorant and even offensive.
