Russia is demonstrating to the Maidan regime that is powerless in its own backyard. Any crackdown by Kiev is certain to trigger Russian intervention. In this crisis, the Russians are clearly calling the shots.
They’re strangling Ukraine without having to fire a single shot. And judging from the way events are moving, Russian President Putin may not have to order Russian troops over the border to force Ukraine back into Russis’s orbit.
The Russians are waging sophisticated 21st Century warfare and both Kiev and NATO have been caught off guard. Nothing in their strategies has prepared them to deal with the nature and speed of the “shadow war” Russia is waging - very well.
Crimea should have given them a clue and two months later, they still don’t know what hit them and where the hammer blows are now falling. This will not end well - for them.
