WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The average premium for an Obamacare benchmark plan will rise slightly in 2015 and increase about 6 percent a year during the rest of this decade, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) said on Monday in a report the White House trumpeted as proof its healthcare reform was working.
The forecast, contained in a new CBO report on President Barack Obama's landmark healthcare law, suggests that insurance premium hikes under Obamacare may not be as severe as predicted by Republican opponents and some health insurers.

CBO sees whatever they’re told to see. They’ve proven themselves to total political tools of the Left.
Prevarication every time he opens his mouth.
And like what would health insurers know about healthcare insurance? The nerve of those critics, huh?
Take the blue pill and JLTO. (Just Listen To Obama)
“Relatively minor”. Relative to what the promised reductions in premiums?
Yeah, that 6% increase is for the $5,000 deductible plans. So after $5,000 out of pocket the insurance will only go up 6% a year!
I didn't have the impression that Affordable Care Act premiums were very affordable to begin with.
The Insurance companies know what the demographics are and who signed up... The people who couldn’t get insurance before the companies were MANDATED to provide it...
Premiums will rise 10-15%... Bank on it... The dumba$$es left “children” (up to 26) stay on their parents policy...
Unintended consequences (not)...
Correct. At the same time, the CBO is also predicting $28 trillion in debt (from $17) in 10 years. But Obamacare is not driving the debt???? Nonsense.
I love how the white house thinks “projections” are “proof”, while actual proof of bad things are just “lies”.
