Didn't the Paulbots take over the state party organization?
Exactly, something like that happened to their primary alright. I just didn’t want to go after Paul because I feel a number of his/their supporters aren’t really espousing Ron Paul ideas, Libertarian Party ideals maybe.
“Didn’t the Paulbots take over the state party organization?”
Yes, they did. But they must have lost their majority at that convention, because Sue Lowden won the party endorsement, and Paultards hate Lowden almost as much as they hate logic, national defense, Judeo-Christian ethics, and Israel’s right to exist (their hatred of Lowden began when she was state party chair in 2008 and she stopped the Paulistinians from rigging a state convention for Ron Paul, who had been trounced by Romney at the local caucuses).
That being said, Paultards usually support abortion-on-demand and special rights for gays, so I guess that there were enough Paulistinians at the convention that, when their votes were aggregated to those of RINOs, there was a majority for removing abortion and marriage from the state party platform.
So Sandoval has only token opposition.
There have been several one-sided a*s kickings in Nevada gubernatorial races featuring incumbents. Mostly on the D side. Odd for a swing state that apparently one side or the other would make no serious effort to win the Governorship.
2002 Kenny Guinn (R) won 68-22.
1986 Richard Byran (D) won 72!-25 over Patty Cafferata, daughter of then Congresswoman Barbara Vucanovich.
1974 Mike O’Callaghan (D) won 67-17! over some woman named Shirley Crumpler (R) on whom I can find little info. Apparently she was the first woman nominated for statewide office in Nevada. A white collar criminal running on the ‘Independent American’ line got 15.5%, how very bizarre.
