My mother came home with the wrong car from the mall one day. she had a 1986 Chevy Nova.. Red..

there was always at least 10 in a parking lot. She was going to take me to an appointment when I went to fiddle with the radio and I asked “mom, when did you get a cassette player installed?” she looked at the radio and me and said “I didn’t, and the radio was on some rock station when I got in the car...”

Then I looked in the glove box and found the real owners insurance information.

It was a hard sell to the police but in the end, they did agree with our story. Our key fit and worked in their car, their key fit and worked in ours.

Aside from the radio the cars where exact copies of each other.

from that day on, mom would check the license plate number of the car before she tried the key.

One can only imagine the number of white Yukons in North Texas.

So how do I distinguish mine from the rest? Easy, mine has the open window in the back seat (left side). I'm not putting any more money in a 15 YO Yukon than I absolutely have to. lol
