As those concerned with Ukraine waited skeptically for April 16 peace talks among Ukraine, Russia, the European Union and the United States in Geneva, Russian President Vladimir Putin heated up the conflict, suggesting that he will not stop until Ukraine is destroyed as a sovereign nation.
He called Ukrainians and Russian one nation and threatened with a full-scale invasion of the Russian army.

An imperialistic mood was added by words the Kremlins chief propagandist, TV host Dmitry Kiseliov, who said he felt that Russia is being suffocated by NATO, and Putins joke that Russian wont take Alaska back from the United States because it doesnt need one more cold territory.

That’s okay, I’m sure the Strong-Man loving sycophants here on Freep would LOVE to have Putin take over all of Eastern Europe again, then, who knows...maybe he’ll make the trains run of time!

The strong man to fear is the one that will rise from the European Union. Now that the once-sovereign nations of Europe have ceded their parliaments, courts and armies to Brussels, they will be powerless to halt the coming dictatorship. Today they are ruled by unelected bureaucrats, but tomorrow it will be a dictator. Russia is not the expansionist power in Europe today; it is NATO that is expanding to Russia's borders.
This is the point I've been making since the Russians annexed Crimea. Putin would have been derelict had he not protected Russia's strategic naval and air bases there. It was a defensive move on Russia's part, reacting the West-aided coup against his duly-elected ally in Kiev.
