JACKSON, Miss. -- A national fraternity group has closed its University of Mississippi chapter after three members were accused of tying a noose around the neck of a statue of the first black student to enroll in the Southern college that was all-white at the time.

Noose tied on Ole Miss integration statue
Univ. of Mississippi seeks to question students about noose on statue
There is apparently no underage drinking, bad behavior, or serious hazing at of Sig Ep's 341 other chapters.
I'm really not with it today, folks.
Noose tied on Ole Miss integration statue
I should. Cause I posted it. BTTT. Talk about being presumed GUILTY before a trial.
It is rather odd that they have not released the names or the races of the boys that were accused of this non crime.
Yep. Cause I remember the same time this happened, there were reports and arrests of black Ole Miss football players who got drunk and disorderly.
I think theres a connection. Who knows? One thing for sure - the enemedia will lie and cover up the truth.
All the noose that fit to print...
The second thread I posted above is a Reuters article that begins "[t]he University of Mississippi wants to question three white male students who may have been involved in draping a noose and a Confederate flag over a statue of James Meredith . . .."
Ole Miss asked the national headquarters of Sigma Phi Epsilon to investigate the 130-member Ole Miss chapter after the noose incident. Sig Ep (and Ole Miss) found evidence of underage drinking, bad behavior, and serious hazing, and pulled the Ole Miss chapter's charter.
Ole Miss was one of Sig Ep's 342 chapters.
I find nothing about that with a Bing or Google search except your post. Article says all three are from Georgia.
Aw, nulls.
I think that it is important at every opportunity to counter a flagrant lie by John Bachelor and a guest author -- it had to be deliberate because even the New York Times acknowledged the truth about Edwin A. Walker (Maj. Gen. U.S. Army). Both men stated that Walker led violent attacks at the University of Mississippi protesting James Meredith. THAT IS A LIE! No response of course to my email to Bachelor that included references to the court case.
"In 1967, the Supreme Court threw out a $500,000 libel judgment [Walker] had won against The Associated Press after the news agency reported that he had "led a charge of students against Federal marshals" deployed at the university to guard Mr. Meredith. The Court said public figures were the same as public officials and therefore the media deserved protection for mistakes made without malice."
BTW "On April 10, 1963, a sniper fired at him as he sat at his desk in his home. The bullet missed his head by about an inch." Lee Harvey Oswald was the shooter.
"Maj. Gen. Edwin A. Walker, whose right-wing political activities led to an official rebuke [by the Kennedy brothers JFK & RFK] and his resignation from the Army in 1961 , . . General Walker, a lanky, much-decorated Texan who led combat units in World War II and the Korean War, ended his 30-year Army career [in 1961] because, he said, he 'could no longer serve in uniform and be a collaborator with the release of United States sovereignty to the United Nations.'"
All quotes are from the NY Times "Gen. Edwin Walker, 83, Is Dead; Promoted Rightist Causes in 60's"
Given the state of affairs today.. I also point out that Attorney General RFK had conservative activist Walker taken into custody and held for mental examination. IIRC even the ACLU helped free Walker within a day or two. And all that was without the powers that the pukes in Washington have today.
Though he had followed orders to compel the desegregation of Central High School in Little Rock, Walker organized protests in September 1962 against the use of Federal troops to enforce the enrollment of African-American James Meredith at the racially-segregated University of Mississippi at Oxford, Mississippi. On September 26, 1962, Walker went on several radio stations to broadcast this message:
Mississippi: It is time to move. We have talked, listened and been pushed around far too much by the anti-Christ Supreme Court! Rise...to a stand beside Governor Ross Barnett at Jackson, Mississippi! Now is the time to be heard! Thousands strong from every State in the Union! Rally to the cause of freedom! The Battle Cry of the Republic! Barnett yes! Castro no! Bring your flag, your tent and your skillet. It's now or never! The time is when the President of the United States commits or uses any troops, Federal or State, in Mississippi! The last time in such a situation I was on the wrong side. That was in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1957-1958. This time -- out of uniform -- I am on the right side! I will be there! [13]
This is his televised public statement on September 29, 1962:
This is Edwin A. Walker. I am in Mississippi beside Governor Ross Barnett. I call for a national protest against the conspiracy from within. Rally to the cause of freedom in righteous indignation, violent vocal protest, and bitter silence under the flag of Mississippi at the use of Federal troops. This today is a disgrace to the nation in 'dire peril,' a disgrace beyond the capacity of anyone except its enemies. This is the conspiracy of the crucifixion by anti-Christ conspirators of the Supreme Court in their denial of prayer and their betrayal of a nation.[14] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edwin_A._Walker

Why? I wonder why. What's his name's guest just published a book/article about the General. Maybe some "facts" were altered to match the guest's? Though the AP suit on wiki matched the truth the General won all the way up to SCOTUS. There was no malice AP just erred in reporting, ruled SCOTUS.
Back in those days if you were a member of the emerging modern conservative movement you were automatically a "purveyor of hate," virtual KKK and National States Rights Party member -- those were some of the charges made against us by Rockefeller Republicans like Mitt Romney's father George!
If you expressed support for the Tenth Amendment you were a racist. Period. We were against transferring all power to Washington, D.C. and that made us racists.
When politics are involved it's wiki graffiti IMO. But it seemed fair enough.
Thanks again.
RE: "bring you skillet" was no real threat.. automatic skillets were just coming on the market and few had them.
The Wikipedia Graffiti on Walker is indeed troublesome, as they are making him out to be some kind of pervert.
Walker, then 66, was arrested on June 23, 1976 for public lewdness in a restroom at a Dallas park and accused of fondling an undercover policeman.[42][43][44] He was arrested again in Dallas for public lewdness on March 16, 1977.[45][46] He pled no contest to one of the two misdemeanor charges, was given a suspended, 30-day jail sentence, and fined $1,000.[47]
If the full article had remained posted, I believe my brief initial comment would have made clear that I was addressing Ole Miss's/Sigma Phi Epsilon's shutting down of an entire 130-member fraternity over the alleged actions of three members.
Only whites are held to race standard.
Our local Sig Ep chapter built a $3+M house in Greek housing after living for years off-campus. They lost their charter after one semester in the house.
Now the house is used to house students looking to start a business.
