We live in interesting times. I dedicated a large part of my life to studying and training to fight these people if they ever attacked Western Europe. Now the old Soviet society has collapsed and what remains of its forces has retreated to Russia. Today it is NATO which is on the march, adding 12 new members since 1998 and now based on the borders of Russia itself. Russia is justifiably alarmed over NATO’s renewed push into the Black Sea — historically a Russian lake and absolutely vital to Russia’s strategic defense.
