Officially, the People's Republic of China is an atheist country but that is changing fast as many of its 1.3 billion citizens seek meaning and spiritual comfort that neither communism nor capitalism seem to have supplied.
Christian congregations in particular have skyrocketed since churches began reopening when Chairman Mao's death in 1976 signalled the end of the Cultural Revolution.
Less than four decades later, some believe China is now poised to become not just the world's number one economy but also its most numerous Christian nation.
"By my calculations China is destined to become the largest Christian country in the world very soon," said Fenggang Yang, a professor of sociology at Purdue University and author of Religion in China: Survival and Revival under Communist Rule.
"It is going to be less than a generation. Not many people are prepared for this dramatic change."
China's Protestant community, which had just one million members in 1949, has already overtaken those of countries more commonly associated with an evangelical boom. And it`s quite simple and uncomplicated.
We humbly ask Him into our life, with a prayer of repentance, something like this...God Be Merciful To Me a sinner, I thank You Lord Jesus for Dying on the Cross for My Sins, Come into my life Lord Jesus, please save me, Be The Lord of My Life
Thank You Jesus for dying on the Cross for my sins, you are now risen, you are at the right hand of God
Please Lord Jesus be my savior and Lord, I turn to you Lord from My sins Lord Save me
From this day forward I choose to live for you,One day at a Time, reading Your Word and obeying it, turning completely from my sin to You Lord
Thank You Jesus for saving me, please fill me with your precious Holy Spirit, guide me and keep me
A prayer along those lines is all that it takes, religion or going to Church wont save us, yes we need fellowship with other believers, and we need to share the saving Gospel Of Jesus Christ with all
Christianity will unify China in a way that no human leader ever could. And it will do so in a peaceful, industrious, and constructive way.
Or, perhaps, the future just belongs to Jesus.;-)
And if anybody understands the cycles of decadence and ascendancy, it's the Chinese!
There is a widespread belief among Chinese Christians that their duty is to transform their nation, and then mission Central Asia, the vaguely Muslim countries of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan etc. Islam was weakened there by communist rule, so its not as fervent as it is in the ME. Converting should not be so difficult.
Yup. We have a tendency to look at what's happening in the U.S. and see the end times, but that is self centered. God doesn't need the U.S. to build His Church.
If Americans are going to abort their own children, promote the sinful and deadly homosexual lifestyle, and slide into the other blasphemies they have adopted, then we'll just suffer the same fate as past civilizations that have abandoned God.
And if the Chinese and Russians turn to Christ, then that's where Christ will build His Church.
All in spite of not being able to use media. Walking the walk.
