"Why Do Judges Execute Innocent…Children?"
Townhall.com ^ | April 20, 2014 | Kevin McCullough

Headlines reported it: South Korean ferry with 300 school children aboard--sunk. Missing children likely drowned inside the ferry. The captain has been arrested, and he is attempting to justify the rationale he used in telling the people not to abandon ship. Every parent around the world that ever sent their baby off on a school field trip identified with the emotional distraught the parents of those children are feeling.

The worst part was hearing some of the final text messages read on the evening news. "This will be the last time I can tell you mom, 'I love you!'"

I just can't imagine, if I was one of those parents, how I would be reacting at present.

Part of why the death of children is so tragic has largely to do with their innocence.

They are young. They see the world from an ideal perspective. They don't wish to be counted as part of the problem, but always part of the solution.

So when we hear of their lights going out, their numbers being called, their lives being taken, we should--if we are normal in the least bit--be stricken by a series of "big questions."

"Why did that happen to them?" "What did they do to deserve it?""How do we insure it doesn't happen to anyone else?"

the article was great

the MATH not so much

"Perhaps a more pertinent question to Americans is, "Why do we weep for the 300 lost children in the ferry waters off of South Korea?"

Merely multiply that by 100,000 times and thats the number of federally funded abortions our tax dollars helped Planned Parenthood kill last year. "

But nobody wept...

And all 300,000+ had beating hearts.

My heart goes out to the parents and families of those children as well as to the children themselves.

But I wonder where the same concern for the thousands of Christian children that are killed every year by one particular religious group whose name shall go unmentioned.

The fact I’m very much opposed to abortion is quite compatible with the sympathy I feel toward the families of all the dead on the Korean ferry. I contribute prolife to and have stood in demonstrations.

Minor nit.

300 x 100,000 = 30,000,000. Not 300,000.

Multiplied one thousand times, not 100,000 times.

if you want to include since 1972, nearly 200,000 times.

At church today, my son in the prayer requests book that he wanted to give prayers to the victims family of the ferry and of the Avalanche. Good kid...
