I wonder if that isn’t what I saw in sky last night. I noticed a bright object crossing the sky, and not far behind it, a smaller object tracing after it.

Just guessing you live in the Minneapolis area, if you saw this around 9:15pm last night, that's what you saw, ISS and Dragon. Verified this using www.heavens-above.com.

I live quite a bit north of that....but I bet that’s what it was.
