Advocates for reform say giving legal status to immigrants will unleash their potential, allowing them to seek education and better jobs and to contribute even more to the state's economy...Is there some reason that same said illegals cannot return back to Mexico and unleash their full potential there, allowing them to seek education and better jobs and to contribute even more to Mexico economy..They need more educated Mexicans back in Mexico, if they ever expect to change..If there is such huge potential, why isn't Mexico making any incentives to bring back their people ?Illegals also have about bankrupt Calif rather than enrich it...What shadows does the writer mean ?? Illegals protesting at the white house,at ice,at police stations, chanting no papers -no fear-undocumented and unafraid ?? Illegals will soon get drivers license in Calif,Calif passed trust act aimed helping illegal avoid ice holds, special treatment from police, they get in state tuition, and job placement..The illegals from Mexico have already obtained gov benefit package that offers more to them, vs Americans.. not to forget free healthcare.

California c2150:
Last week I watched Matt Damon's movie Elysium. It is basically a story of the privileged leaving Earth because it had become so toxic, so they had built a gigantic space station type modernistic facility for themselves.
Even though it takes place about 150 years in the future, I was surprised at how the Hollywood Libs portrayed the land of the unprivileged. They lived in squaller, had little to no health care facilities [apparently Obamacare wasn't around by then], few year 2150 modern conveniences, etc.
When the main character was on Earth, his city (Los Angeles) seemed to be a new azland resembled many across-the-border towns of today. Even half the dialog was screen captioned [Spanish to English].
My impression was: this is what we will see in 150 years if Congress continues to push through more amnesties. Of course, that was not the intended message the movie was wanting to make.
Otherwise, the movie was so-so. Lots of CGI, lots of things blowing up, etc.

Big gov and big business want these people. Big gov wants new voters, and big business wants cheap labor. Anyone with a brain will know that the US is in a recession. College grads cannot get jobs, and HS grads cannot get jobs. How are we going to help them get jobs if we flood the market with legalized illegal immigrants? Idiots will claim that most jobs held by illegal are jobs that Americans will not do (ala non tech labor), but half of the illegals are VISA overstays from Eastern Europe and China. These people hold office service and tech jobs that our college grads need. IAW Dems need the poor illegal immigrants as voters, and big business want VISA overstays as low cost white collar workers. Either way Americans of all walks of life lose except the filthy businessmen and politician.

I don’t care about fulfilling illegal alien invaders’ full potential. we have enough hardcore lawbreakers of all races in this country. too many.

"Immigrants feed California"Those are the first three words of the article. You can stop reading after that. If the first three words are a lie, don't bother with the rest.
Immigrants don't feed California. Farmers feed California. They may some unskilled laborers to perform some of the work, but it is the farmers who provide the capital, take the risk, and schedule the effort. We would all die of starvation if we relied on unskilled labor to feed us.
