i can’t do this but if a person really looks in trouble i’d call 911 and tell them the mile markers. i have obligations to my family, my mom and wife and her mom in particular. and my now-old pets who totally depend on me to doctor them,’some several times a day.

My whole life revolves around getting home to my dogs alive because I know my mom would have them put down before my body was cold.
I liked your post #22. I totally agree that you have obligations to significant other people—and in your case, pets—in your life and you should not put your life in jeopardy in situations such as the one at issue.
