The whole point of the article is that you cannot sit around and drink in public, or even be drunk in public...but on the other hand, it’s just fine for the dopers to take over a public space and shut down the whole area while they get stoned in public. Not to mention the second hand smoke, the intoxicated minors and the general nuisance value of the whole thing, which would land you in jail if it were alcohol. Heck, in New York, they stop and frisk people before the St Pat’s parade to make sure they’re not bringing any kind or amount of alcohol

You should ask yourself why the government is so eager to promote pot.

In case you’re wondering, it’s because it makes people dumb and easy to control. The government’s dearest hope.

Only certain areas and only large bags. I assure you that 99% of parade goers here are not frisked. I've seen teenagers (under 18) openly drunk at every St Pat's parade I've been to and I used to be one of those teenagers.

People drink in public for many events all across the country. It's illegal in most places but enforcement becomes selective for special events.

It is illegal to smoke pot in public in CO but enforcement becomes selective and rare for events. Just like for drinking events.

If they ban both types of events I agree 100% but banning one is hypocritical and corrupt.

How do they promote pot? Even growing one pot plant or having more than a single zip-lock of dry plant is a federal felony. In legal states, it is taxed far more than 100%. If they wanted to promote it, they’d make it completely legal and tax free.

Under the Obama regime, which benefits from making people dumb, pot raids in legal states have increased!

The “easy to control” drugs you are thinking of are the legal psychoactive Rx drugs that turn people who are upset about our world into zombies (SSRIs, benzos and hynotics). There are TV commercials for these designer drugs 24/7 and they are prescribed to our CHILDREN like candy!

Pot prohibition is all about money for entrenched interests and being able to easily arrest those who disagree with the regime. That’s 100% of it.
