All Ukrainians other than extreme retards speak Russian now; nobody other than historians will speak Ukrainian in fifteen years. It seems rather clear that the country is divided with the south and the east favoring, to one degree or another, aligning with Russia. Some in the western regions might prefer to "be a part" of Europe but most all are realizing that Europe neither wants or can afford another basket case to care for.

In any event, the deal is all but done. Only the timetable remains unclear. 0bama's MRE's, empty threats of sanctions and all his finger-wagging deter no one. Merkel/Europe just wants to have access to Russian energy. They are quite content to have Putin make their unsightly Ukrainian burden go away.
