I read the book about Henrietta Laks.

Her family really, really wants to be made wealthy by anyone who has ever sold HeLa cells, which have been staples in labs for decades. Henrietta was not harmed by the taking of her cells.

Most people, if told their cells will be taken and cultured and used to perform research to extend and improve lives, would gladly allow such sampling, with no thought of charging for the cells. This family only sees dollar signs.
