The US Department of State, partnered with the US-Ukraine Foundation, which was established and active since 1991, has, according to its own admission, been influencing the Rada since at least 1994.

My post #48 has a link to an article published by the US-Ukraine Foundation in 2001; the article celebrates the anniversary of 10 years of activism and influence in Ukraine.

Of course, the claim will be made that the "help" was purely "technical", but with the scope and duration of the project, the opportunity and motivation for undue influence renders the suggestion of "technical-only help" supremely doubtful.

Here's an excerpt with the Rada part of the article, though notably the article also proudly spoke of working in the areas of law and education as well:

Over the past 10 years, the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation has developed significant expertise in a number of public policy areas. For example, in 1994 the Parliamentary Development Project (PDP) was established after Ivan Pliushch, then chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, asked the USUF to provide technical assistance and support for the Task Force on Parliamentary Reform. His request eventually led to the founding of PDP, a USAID-funded cooperative effort of the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation and Indiana University's School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

During the project, USUF project staff worked side by side with deputies and provided them with the necessary information and analysis they needed to make appropriate changes in the Verkhovna Rada's procedures and structures.

PDP has translated into Ukrainian over 200 documents of comparative information or analytical pieces for the Verkhovna Rada's reference. PDP also disseminated valuable information to policy-makers in all branches of the Ukrainian government, academia, and the mass media.

Here is an example of how Russia assists the Ukraine with its development of democratic and fair government:

SBU releases Russian military chatter over killing of Horlivka lawmaker (VIDEO)

2:30 p.m. – Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) has released a YouTube video it says implicates high-ranking Russian Military Intelligence officers in the April 17 abduction and subsequent killing of Horlivka City Councilman Volodymyr Rybak.

Rybak that day tried raising the Ukrainian national flag atop the local legislature building. His dead body was found in a river near Sloviansk – 65 kilometers from Horlivka – on April 19, along with an unidentified corpse. An Interior Ministry criminal investigator said his body had signs of torture and his belly was ripped open.

The first part of the video allegedly shows a recording of Russian Military Intelligence Lieutenant Colonel Igor Bezlier ordering a subordinate to abduct Rybak, tie his hands and blindfold him while driving him away to a remote place so that he could rendezvous with the captors.

In the second part of the recording, Russian Military Intelligence Colonel Igor Strelkov – who the SBU says is coordinating the Kremlin-backed separatist movement in eastern Ukraine – calls Vyacheslav Ponomaryov, the self-proclaimed mayor of Sloviansk, “to come and pick up (Rybak’s) body because it is starting to stink.”

In response, Ponomaryov complies, and says he will come to take and “bury the punk.” – Mark Rachkevych

Propaganda ?

The article is from a US-based partner group of the US State Department.

As an American, I’m for American hegemony, but just achieved through legitimate means, not through banker-controlled puppets using the American government to incite war and revolution.

After over 20 years of influencing Ukraine, with the goal being to assimilate it into the EU, there was no provision made for ensuring Russia’s naval port. Russia is therefore in a position with a choice: do something to save their port or do nothing and let the port go.

I don’t agree with such murders, but in Ukraine, both sides resort to murder; in fact, corrupt dealings leading to murder is a way of life in that part of the world.

This is normal for America in recent decades, unfortunately, as we’ve seen middle east countries ripped up by banker-engineered revolutions and wars which used the US government to carry out the deeds.

“Propaganda ?”

It makes no difference who you are or where you are. The information and disinformation you are presenting is a combination of half-truths and falsehoods used in a deceptive manner to provoke the division of opinions among the readers. Your clearly anti-American comments such as the conspiratorial “through banker-controlled puppets using the American government to incite war and revolution” is prejudiced, discriminatroy, and bigoted in an anti-American way regardless of the truth or falsity of the informatoin being presented. You play the blame America game giving only lip service to the provocations by such bad actors as Putin and his kleptocratic regime in Russia.

You claim to support American hegemony, which is itself contrary to American values of patriotism and a respect for the right of individuals and their families to enjoy peace and freedom as freemen governing themselves by the just rule of law in a republican form of government.

Whether or not the Ukraine chooses to join with the EU with the attendant problems that would bring, the Ukraine and its citizens, of all ethnic backgrounds, have the human right to be free of Russian invason, occupation, and annexation. Should there be a problem with the EU and its socialist-communist proclivities or the oligachic tendencies of the internatonal banking combines, those problems can be handled without condemning the Ukraine and its people ot the murderous rule of Russia. Your propagandistic comments inflame the problem by misleading readers with false information and false conclusions.

So let’s start a war with Russia to help the beleaguered Ukrainians.

We’ll assume the US government is pure in it’s motives.

After all, to say anything against a US war is anti-American.

Everyone knows that Russians are our natural enemy, right ?

I mean, the sooner we destroy them all the better, right ?

WhiskeyX, no matter what you accuse me of, the US Department of State - by its own PROUD admission - has been actively working to bring Ukraine into the European Union since its independence.

If the US State Department admits what they’ve been doing, why won’t everyone else admit what the Department of State has been doing ?

Would you want America to join a supranational agency ?

That’s where things are headed.

The US Navy is a “global force for good” now.

The evidence is all over the place.

But you’re more interested in America “crushing it’s natural adversary” than admitting that perhaps the globalists are the true enemy and they’re inside the American government.

The process goes STEP-BY-STEP over DECADES.

Just read about the EU, and it will stick out like a sore thumb:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_union

You think you’re “saving Ukraine”, when IT’S JUST ONE STEP IN THE PLAN for GLOBALISM.

And by getting the US to “help save Ukraine from Russia” - and worry about EVERYTHING ELSE LATER - you’re helping to complete that step, and there won’t be a “later”.

The US is already in NATO, the UN, all these “group of n” groups.

If these steps keep getting accomplished, there will come a day when the US will be absorbed into a supranational body.

You won’t have a choice.

You’ll be a citizen of the UN, or North American Union, or whatever.

It won’t be much of a vote by citizens, if at all. It will be rigged to be sure to pass, because “opposing it will be un-American”, etc. It will be a treaty. And suddenly our US government will just be our “local” government, and the real edicts will come from this new entity. The 2A is being whittled away every year, bit by bit. The US military and law enforcement, over decades, is being conditioned to go up against Americans who resist. In 20 years, the current generation of elderly, who would most resist globalism, will have died off. The next generation will be elderly themselves and thus have little ability to fight let alone understand why they must.

You are in dreamworld. A dreamworld where the old 1940’s movies I love are all true. Those ‘mericans are comin’ to save the day. In reality, the elites are calling the shots, and they make sure that anyone who says that is called a lunatic, or anti-American. And those American troops were and will be used all along by the elites, to further their goals, not any legitimate American goal.

If Ukraine never was considering joining the EU, “Putin”, i.e., Russia, would never have had to secure their port, and we’d all be talking about how cool it is that you can do business in Ukraine and travel there on vacation. There would be no mention that Russia is our eternal enemy, etc. What really behooves me is people are so ignorant that say Russia is our eternal enemy - because of the US-based companies that have Russian subsidiaries. If they were so bad, why would our “American, mom, apple pie” businesses be settup up shop there ? It can’t be about communism, even - because we trade to a great negative balance with communist China. I simply can’t be told to fight a war when American capitalists are doing business with both sides, us and “them”.
