National leaders U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Sen. Harry Reid were in Las Vegas Thursday, Aug. 30, for the National Clean Energy Summit held at Aria Resort & Casino at City Center.

The National Clean Energy Summit 4.0: The Future of Energy, brought together innovators, considered to be among the nation's top minds, to chart the course for the future of energy in America.

The summit highlighted Department of Defense investments in renewable and efficiency technologies designed to make US troops safer and spur the civilian clean tech sector to commercialize new technologies. It also initiated conversation between Western state leaders on how to best take advantage of vast regional resources to create new jobs, rebuild the economy, and ensure long-term prosperity.

"It was a great conversation and an effective exchange of ideas that will go toward the rebuilding of America, the rebuilding of Nevada," said Commissioner Steve Sisolak. "It was well attended and I hope it brings about the desired impact in the future. We just have to do our part."

The summit was sponsored by Sen. Reid, the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Clean Energy Project (CEP), Center for American Progress and MGM Resorts International.

Yeah, we never did get the handle on how to do that in America. So good of the Chinese to come on over and offer to teach us how it's done.

Well, well, well. Look who showed up, picking his teeth.
