Sharpton on SCOTUS Upholding Affirmative Action Ban: 'We Must Mobilize Immediately!'
Got News Wire/Truth Revolt ^ | April 22, 2014

Posted on 04/23/2014 6:57:14 PM PDT by Bon of Babble

A 6-2 vote on Tuesday in the U.S. Supreme Court upheld Michigan's ban on using affirmative action for university admissions and Al Sharpton is none too happy, calling it a "devastating blow to the civil rights community" and sending out the battle cry to "mobilize immediately!!"...

Upon further thought, I hope they do manage to get referendums on ballots. Nothing is more satisfying and devastating than crushing left wing ballot initiatives.

In 2012 the unions in Michigan got a big referendum on the ballot that would have given them final say over the Michigan constitution and it was crushed. Less than a year later Michigan became the 24th RTW state.

One thing about the left. They NEVER give up. Like nationalized healthcare, they will spend 70 or more years, relentlessly moving the ball forward. See how well they’ve done with smoking bans, gun bans in some states, gay “marriage” that was voted down everywhere it was voted on.

I don’t understand SCOTUS, tho. If the people of MA, CA, LA, OH, and other states voted FOR traditional marriage, in those various cases, the public vote was overturned by an activist judge, validated by a panel of activist judges, then the law that was voted on is overturned. How is it on affirmative action, the vote of the people holds? Is it because the ‘overturner’ would be a university, not a court?

It was the court of appeals that overturned the affirmative action ban.

That makes it kind of interesting because the court also overturned our ban on gay marriage in Michigan.

I’ve lost track. Has MI’s public vote on gay “marriage” been overturned so that gay couples can now “marry?” In OH, it seems the judge allowed the couples who sued to ‘marry’ based on his decision, but held on others until there’s a decision a level or two up from him. In some states, when a District court judge decides, they can go ahead and ‘marry.’ I am so easily confused!

The gay marriage ban was overturned by a federal district judge but the state attorney General got a stay so we’re back to banning gay marriage again for now.

Actually, although you’re right they won’t really stop, the left can be slowed to a snail’s pace. It all depends on how many blind followers they have. Admittedly, they have quite a lot these days, but the only way to maintain their following is through never-ending efforts to prop up their lies. (It must get nauseatingly tiresome for the poor blokes.)

The only way they can grow a following in the first place is through deception and brainwashing. The truth is perpetually their enemy.

In the long term conservatism has the advantage because truth will always outlive deception.

*******************************************************************

Yes, the CALIFORNIA PEOPLE in 2008 (via Proposition 8) voted to enshrine the definition of marriage as being between one man and one woman into the California constitution.

Of course the progressives sued in federal court and won. Normally the state of California would appeal that (and likely would have prevailed once it reached the U.S. Supreme Court) bad decision but THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNMENT decided not to appeal. The CALIFORNIA PEOPLE (you know the “We, the people of California...” that the California constitution begins with) were found to NOT HAVE STANDING. The “We the people of California” do not have the right to appeal an unjust opinion by activist judges on what the California constitution should contain.

THE PEOPLE IN CALIFORNIA have no standing to defend what they entered into THEIR constitution. But the California governmental rulers do have standing and exercised THEIR AGENDA instead of protecting the people. In California now, the people are irrelevant—the government now has ultimate power.

We still have “a bunch of folks,” (to use a Haaaaaavud educated Obama phrase), that desperately hang onto the racial hatreds of the 1960’s: for example, Revs. Sharpton and Jackson.

For them, nothing has changed since the pre 1960’s, and so they make a living by race-baiting with speeches, accusations, and of course, arm in arm “marches.”

To them, they receive with deaf ears the statement: “If you accuse someone of being a racist, and do NOT back it up with facts, - - - - - - - - - - - then you just might be a racist.”

I can discuss this one to an infinite level.

I know the author of Prop 209 that started it all and fully understand all of the aspects of this issue.

He has written a couple of books and they fully explain where he stands and how he got there. He got where he is in life through hard work and integrity.

Search him up. His name is Ward Connerly. Al and Jessee hate him.

Blacks and Latinos will do fine without affirmative action.

`What it will mean is blacks and Latinos who got their positions by ‘working the system’ won’t be at the top as much as blacks and Latinos who are competent and got there the old fashioned way...

Trust me - it’ll be better.

Have faith in your fellow man Sick... Liberal elites look down on conservatives as much as they look down on blacks.

Think of it this way - liberal elites would be condescending toward us too if they didn’t hate us so much.
