Barack Obama, the adolescent president
Washington Post ^ | April 23, 2014 | George Will

Posted on 04/24/2014 4:06:44 AM PDT by Las Vegas Dave

Recently, Barack Obama — a Demosthenes determined to elevate our politics from coarseness to elegance; a Pericles sent to ameliorate our rhetorical impoverishment — spoke at the University of Michigan. He came to that very friendly venue — in 2012, he received 67 percent of the vote in Ann Arbor’s county — after visiting a local sandwich shop, where a muse must have whispered in the presidential ear. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) had recently released his budget, so Obama expressed his disapproval by calling it, for the benefit of his academic audience, a “meanwich” and a “stinkburger.”

I love how manly our president is. A “meanwich”, a “stinkburger”? What a frigging queen.

I’ve always felt he was best described as sophomoric : “conceited and overconfident of knowledge but poorly informed and immature”

The girl that wrote the speech thought the lines were cute.

Describing the man as adolescent is incomplete.

A more comprehensive descriptive is Treacherous tyrannical dithering despotical adolescent

George Will is in error. BO is not adolescent. He is, at most, pre-adolescent...more likely infantile.

This would be candid because it is what progressivism is — a top-down, continent-wide tissue of taxes, mandates and other coercions.

Very true.

And his analysis of Obama's childishness is also accurate, because the left in general is very adolescent. Look at all the leftist heroes, from Sandra Fluke to the Occupy crowd, and all you see is spoiled brats sticking out their tongues and somehow considering this to be a stunning political statement.

But of course, that's because leftism is intellectually indefensible, so I guess all they have is childish insults and obscenities.

Still waiting - perhaps in vain - for one of these WH press sheep to ask some basic questions from which there is no rhetorical evasion. Examples:

-’You say you don’t like Ryan’s budget. Have you reviewed its details? If so, which ones do you object to specifically?’

-’If the debate on Obamacare is over, why do you keep raising the subject?’

-’How can Obamacare be ‘working’ when over 30 of its provisions, including most of the funding mechanisms, are on indefinite hold?’

-’Syria has clearly violated any warning or threshold you laid out. What, specifically, will be the consequences?’

etc. etc.

Having a WH-resident press corps is an anachronism and a recipe for propaganda whether your name is Ed Henry or Helen Thomas, but I’m also dreaming of the day that one of them stands up and says ‘With respect, Mr President, that’s not the question I asked.’

Can a collectivist be anything other than immature?

I think what we’re seeing are ‘symptoms’ rather than the ‘illness’ in regard to who Barry really is. The press portrays him as adolescent but in fact he’s quite different. This man is a lie created by image makers. What the press has mostly kept hidden is a man cold as ice, almost certainly a practicing homosexual with all of the attendant emotional/psychological baggage, a drug abuser, grossly self absorbed to the extreme, a despot who will not be questioned.

“O” can't open his mouth without giving away just how incredibly ill-educated he is.

I guess that's what you sound like when all you have ever done in the way of educating yourself is to commit Marxist rhetoric to memory so that you can regurgitate it on demand!

For Liberals THAT passes for an education

He is educated way beyond his intelligence.
Much like most of the ruling class.
Classic example, a bunch of lawyers lead by a community organizer took over the medical industry with out any input from the medical profession.
Same with the banks.
Same with the auto industry.

True... and don’t forget... the same witless and malicious crowd is going to take over the military.

Put a fork in US.

Amen to that. I have always maintained that he sounds like a very arrogant fifth grader that just read his “Weekly Reader” and hence knows how to solve all the world’s problems.

The same witless and malicious crowd has taken it over.
But I don’t think it is fork time yet.
There is always a chance for this country to right itself.
May not happen for a while, but at some point communism fails. The question remains as how the transition takes place. Civil or like the French Revolution.

Right.. but the globe is littered with countries where Communism failed. The resulting social/economic/military wreckage pretty much obstructs victims ‘righting’ their homeland to anything like its previous status.

There will be losers. Usually, losers are the general populace who, whether or not they EVER supported the Communist scheme, are losers none the less!!

It would take generations before the social equilibrium and economic stability are restored and I think some of this can never BE fully restored.
