HOAX EXPOSED: NYT Edited Version Of Bundy Comments
Pat Dollard.com ^

Posted on 04/24/2014 3:37:15 PM PDT by stirrinthepuddin

Watch Bundy explain how we need to keep things from going backwards for blacks, and how the Federal government has created a neo-slave class via entitlement dependency that is so bad it is arguably worse than plantation slavery was.

It is 100% clear that Cliven Bundy is not saying that blacks should be slaves picking cotton, but that the Federal government has created conditions for them so terrible, that their current situation may actually be worse. (If you are person of low intelligence, the fact that that is his point might be too hard for you to understand.) And he’s not blaming blacks for the issues of abortions, and crime and broken families, he’s blaming the Feds.

CAIR has picked up on this as well. When the 9-11 exhibit opened, and mentioned that the 19 buttholes w/ arms & legs who hijacked the planes were Muslims, CAIR was ... (wait for it) “deeply offended.”
So let’s file that away: when Arabs, Spike Lees or homosexuals protest that they are offended, roger—that’s a “bullseye”!

Maybe he believes in speaking his mind. Nothing wrong with that.

“because he is not media savvy,”

Painfully so, IMO. See my post 21 at http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3148308/posts?q=1&;page=28#28

As long as Bundy doesn’t run for office, he’ll be fine.

Whenever you see a Freeper talk about being ‘offended’ and they aren’t mocking someone for using the term, it’s a safe bet that person is used to using the phrase. Do conservatives run around telling people how offended they are, or do liberals/RINOs?

That’s all one need ask themselves when they see it. Then treat the ‘offended with the respect due.

this is a glittering example of our freedom of speech being diminished. Today, Conservatives have to closely choose their words, or risk even being attacked by people they thought were their allies! Our timidity is what allows the race card to flourish. Bill Cosby and a few others are speaking their minds on this issue, and they are applauded. IMO, this issue needs to be a huge part of the next political campaign. There are more examples of the hideous things, gosnell, education, black on black crime, etc. etc. etc., that blacks have been subjected to, than you can throw a stick @, & they can all be laid squarely @ the feet of the democrat party, if the right feller tells the story.

>>Of course we tend to find ‘hidden meanings’ when we want to be ‘offended’!<<

Bingo! God bless your socks off.

I listened to an old rancher man attempting to articulate a point. It didn't sounds racist at all to me.

I have many friends that are AMERICANS of Hispanic, Asian, Indian, African descent....we all joke around and carry on about all kinds of stuff. No one gets offended. I'd lay my life on the line for any of’em.

But, as bad as modern policies have been, they don't even begin to compare to the harm and horrors caused by slavery.

Would that be the slavery where the majority of slave owners were the Mulatto's?

Would that be the the first (and forgotten) slaves who never saw indenture-hood (white Irish)?

Or how about the first Black man ... who owned slaves and through his court battles .. was responsible for making slavery legal in this country?

Akin threads

Akin was a politician running for political office. Bundy is a private citizen with no political aspirations. Akin's comment was repugnant to everyone. Bundy was correct, just clumsy in his expression.

The socialists are filled with horrible temerity when they see us criticizing our own. That is why we supported Akin after he stumbled. Note that the Democrats will defend the indefensible when one of theirs is in trouble. Conservatives need to learn from them.

I never expected Bundy to be a polished speaker or a politically correct person. The guy is a rancher, not a media stooge or corrupt politician. He would serve his cause better if he stuck to the issue and stayed away from the traps being set for him by the left.

Any time you are standing in front of a dozen cameras and the words “I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro...” pass your lips, I suggest you immediately bite down on your tongue until your mouth is full of blood. It will hurt less in the long term.

This guy has lost any political support he has had, he lost any friend he has had in government, and anybody who flocks to his cause will now be smeared a racist. What on God’s green earth made this man think this was a good idea?

Watch the old John Wayne movie McClintock.

Because part of the story is about Wayne speaking at the request of the Indians to the government agent why they were in revolt and off the reservation

That being kept on the government doll, being just providen for on the rez was destroying their people and dignity.

I content Bundy was trying to say the same ...

Because it fits the context of Bundys situation...

The way to destroy a man and a people is take there ability or reason to support their-self.

It destroy your self respect...

A free man supports himself. .

A slave is provided for if he complies with his master wishes

Why else would something like this come up in the during the standoff? ..

It would fit in this context...or else it would be an absurd non sequitur at the time.

I get what you are saying. But we have a responsibility to ourselves and to the country as a whole to not be sheep.

A guy that is promoting amnesty is just not acceptable on this site. He may not be a politician but he is a voice. Do we just follow like sheep because he has one issue right? Amnesty is an issue that disqualifies a multitude of politicians from being acceptable. How can we accept an individual from spouting this nonsense and condemn those who condemn him?

A pol with half a brain and interest in the idea of America as a free land would have raised the issue 3 decades ago and set it squarely around the neck of the Democrats...who are of course, responsible.

Cowards hide from reality and hope it goes away so they can win political points.

Things like condemning conservatives like not voting for a gay supporting, abortion funding liberal? Yup. that isn’t acceptable here and had a whole crew of idiots belching out for over a year.

This guy made a minor flub by comparison. And he did not ‘call’ for amnesty. Which again, is nothing but a diversion from the issue.

I agree with Bundy 100% about the evil of government dependence. I just do not think it is true or politically savvy to say it is a “Negro” problem. I can see how a middle class working black guy would get pissed at that comment. Just talk about government dependence, Democrats always try to make everything about race, why help them?

The full video along with his radio response has been available most of the day. It doesn’t make what Bundy said any better or any more politically palatable.

If people wish to bury their heads in the sand and think these comments are not absolute political poison even in the very best of context, I guess it’s just further proof that a whole lot of well meaning conservatives have zero political sense.

Talking about “the Negro” and the fact that they haven’t learned how to “pick cotton” and wondering aloud whether they might not have been better off as slaves is just not going to fly. With these comments, Bundy has destroyed himself and tarred a lot of politicians that stood, however tentatively, with him.

I don’t think Bundy is probably much of a hater. He’s from another generation and maybe just hasn’t updated his vocabulary. I can see he was thinking out loud and trying to point out how destructive the social welfare state is, but you just can’t go around saying things like this and think it won’t cause a firestorm that won’t end well for anyone who says it or is associated with it.

This thread reminds me of the Akin threads. Every political realist understood that his idiotic rape comments had destroyed any chance he had to win, yet so many people refused to see political reality. We got 6 more years of Claire because of that.

When did Bundy become a politician and why should his case on an unrelated matter be decided by his eloquence? The federal government not Bundy turned this into a circus of enormous proportions.

He's an old rancher. If you expect old Rancher's to not speak their mind and to be politically correct you have another thing coming.

I'm going to go waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out on a limb and say, from what I have heard from him; it doesn't even seem that racist. There is more than one kind of slave and anyone you depend on for to feed you can become your master.
