This pup is a leftist and doesn't even know it. "The New York times took out the boring part" tells me that there is a definite failure to even listen to, much less comprehend Mr. Bundy's point.

What an idiot. Who gave this guy a keyboard, anyway?

Deriding further the selfsame excesses in government such as those that have the Feds owning 85% of Nevada and attacking a rancher and his cattle with over 200 armed agents, Bundy pointed out the slavery of being caught in the rattrap of Federal Relief Programs, of multigenerational dependency on government, (for those who know, a situation replete with rules which require the demolition of families and the destruction of culture and ultimately individuals--all aimed at the State being in control of lives from cradle to grave.)

Why is this even germane to a discussion about Federal Overreach? It is another, more widespread, and more insidious abuse of federal power, not Constitutionally mandated, and thus not Constitutional, and its effects are diabolically destructive--far beyond the livelihood of one ranching family.

Jumping through the hoops required to get and maintain a stream of benefits under the welfare state requires behaviours counter productive to building family units which traditionally have been the greatest single social and cultural means of establishing good character, work habits, self-respect, prosperity, education and strong communities. Try to escape the benefits package of the Welfare State, and it cannot be done gradually as the benefits which fall away with relatively minor advances in the workplace are worth multiples of what the individual can afford, thus keeping those individuals bound to the State. Failure to provide your children with the mandated benefits can be seen by the state as reason to seize your children, to take them away under color of law, without trial. That isn't freedom, just a different set of chains, and without so much as a solid family (mommy daddy kids) to see you through the day, because the Welfare won't let daddy live in the home or mommy doesn't get the check.

That I'd even have to spell something like this out to someone whose "Done F***ed Up" is their pinnacle of English Composition and logic is little surprise, why Young has an outlet other than an obscure blog or the filler corner of a junior high newspaper is beyond me.

Cliven Bundy has a point. People who write inflammatory columns based on edited information make a point, too. That being that they are useless as a source of information or insight. (...and I did go to the link and read the whole screed, just in case there was an epiphany in there somewhere. There wasn't.)
