Big deal. It should have been done months ago. Then what? Is holder going to investigate?

Holder will ask Lerner to join his club.
You have a choice of initiations, once found by congress to be in a contempt.
You can have your pee-pee whacked by the Sgt. at Arms using a rolled-up newspaper, or they can take away your birthday.
In the meantime, employees of the federal alphabet agencies are watching and seeing that the penalty for malfeasance is non-existent, while there are real punishments for failing to follow instructions from the policy makers who sign their performance reviews.
This administration is corrupt from the head down.

Politics. I think they keep dragging this and the Holder thing out, so it’s still an issue around election time.

She is ‘next’ on the list, right after Charlie Rangel.

WASN’T he either convicted (or whatever they call it when they have to tend to each others indiscretions) about a year ago?

Sure wish people would get off their collective DUFFS and turn ALL of these clowns out.....

NOW if an ‘R’ were to ‘spit on the sidewalk’ he would be dealt with IMMEDIATELY and if a ‘CONSERVATIVE’ were to not say hello to someone ‘senior’ to him, he would be stripped of all his committees and placed on ‘the list’.

I’m not sure of the process in Congress, but I know in regular court, if you are found in contempt you go immediately to jail.

If she does not go to jail immediately, than the whole thing is just a dog and pony show, symbolic to provide cover, so they can say we tried.

Let’s be clear. We are talking about protecting the most vulnerable from the most powerful. To not force this issue is malfeasance of the highest order.

The House of Representatives will vote in May ...

They'll drag this out so that nothing substantial ever gets done. Targeting conservatives is something everybody inside the beltway can agree on.

I doubt this will rise to the level of a Capital crime, though I do think it should be one. That being said I agree largely with your analysis. For once Boehner may be playing his cards in a pretty clever way.

Once the vote is taken the Sgt At Arms can be told to find and arrest Lerner immediately. Boehner can call a press conference and announce the issuance of the Warrant and demand that Lerner turn herself in immediately or be declared a Fugitive from Justice.

Watching her do a perp walk into the Congressional jail would be a thing of beauty. The Pubbies are going to hold the House this November so the first order of business should be another Contempt vote so they can keep her criminal ass in the Congreessional jail for two entire more years. Maybe that will loosen her tongue.

The criminal regime she works for will not allow her to live long enough to have a loosening of the tongue. I expect she will have a sudden heart attack (prison life don’tchaknow) or a fast growing cancer will be discovered. Once you worship at the feet of the criminal enterprise democrips you can never leave, alive. But once sent for six you can still vote!

We know they will vote to hold her in contempt, but will they have the balls to follow through and have her arrested, {they have the power, do they have the will} and kept under arrest until she talks.

My prediction is easy, based on history, there are enough eunuchs in the House pubbie side to prevent incarceration.

There are several ways to skin a cat

If someone were to mention the death penalty there will be hell to pay. The suggestion will dominate the news for several days.

“So what’s that going to prove?”

There are a great many people who want to see Congress exercise some of the authority the citizens of this nation delegated to them for the purpose of holding government officials accountable for their misconduct. So, if nothing else this Congress can recover at least some tatters of credibility, whereas a failure to use the power to hold a government official in contempt of Congress will only further shame the members of Congress.

Anyone who condones criminal conduct by bemoaning the futility of opposing the crimes and the criminals is in effect giving aid to the criminals by hindering the efforts to garner the public support necessary to combat them.
