Teen girl stabbed to death at school after rejecting prom invite

A teen boy slashed a 16-year-old girl to death at their Connecticut high school Friday morning — after he asked her to be his date for the junior prom and she turned him down.

The girl, Maren Sanchez, had planned to go to the prom Friday night with another boy, a friend of her alleged attacker.

“Yay, so excited!!!!!” she had written under a recent Sanchez’s friends recounted the morning encounter and grisly attack.

“He asked her to the prom right there, and she rejected him,” Imani Langston, a junior who described herself as Sanchez’s best friend, told The Post.

Another junior, Sam Garcia, 16, recalled: “There was blood on her neck. It was awful.”

Sanchez was stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife, including in the face and chest, as she struggled with the spurned boy near a stairwell at Jonathan Law HS in Milford, officials said.

The popular girl, who had wanted to go into music and acting and was on multiple sports teams, fought back, even biting the boy as he strangled and cut her, sources said.

I carry a knife, just not a kitchen knife. I leave those in the kitchen.

Excellent points.

I went to a very large high school. About 3000 students - split shifts. We did not have any “resource officers”. As far as I know, no one was ever shot or stabbed at school. No teachers were attacked. No students were attacked. There were the usual cliques but I don’t even remember any “bullying”. We were polite to our teachers and each other.

Something has definitely changed.

A couple of years ago I went to visit my daughters’ teacher at school with one of my daughters. The teacher told a student loitering in the hall that he needed to get to class. He cussed her out, using vile language. She did nothing because there was nothing she could do and the kids know it. Schools these days are more like asylums than places of learning.

If my kids were still in school, I would do everything possible to home-school them.

I would put one bullet right in his head between his ear and his eyeball. Put him down like a rabid dog.

The Left is trying to erase God not only from public life but private life as well. They are trying to criminalize just the mention of God in public and tell our children they must only talk about or worship Him in complete secrecy.

This is making our society turn animal. It makes me want to cry but I will fight this to my death. God cannot be pushed aside and we must fight back against the leftist heathens.

You must have gone to the same high school I did.

No guards, no metal detectors, no locked doors and virtually no violence. Certainly no direct disrespect for the teachers.

All this in the late 1960's when the revolution was just starting.

Of course people have always killed each other. Cain and Abel. But if there wasn’t more of a threat of violence among teens these days, we probably wouldn’t need cops at schools.

Absolutely correct. We have been importing the gang and violence as a problem solver mentality for decades now. The last names of those involved tells you all you need to know. Hispanic teenagers male and female can be incredibly cruel and hostile to one another and to whites as well. Just a wrong “look” can start a fight. The other giveaway is the male practice of violent expectoration on the ground whenever someone walks by. This is a symbol of masculinity in their culture and dominance and detesting the land and the country you are in. I’m afraid murders like this are just the tip of the iceberg. Wait until they start trying to take back the land. They think we are the invaders. In the meantime I would not turn my back on one of them. And there are a lot of them in the military now. I have a next door neighbor from Brazil. The father is a decent man hard working and pleasant. However the son born here lives at home at age 24 drives a brand new pick up (paid for no doubt through Pell Grant school tuition funds successfully diverted). On the back of this kid’s truck he has placed a decal which reads: “STFU!” You wonder where the hate and incivility and anger come from. He spends days at the gym.

“Where does so much anger come from? “

Obviously we don’t what the case is here, and there could be big mental health issues involved, but this kind of anger often comes from recurrent humiliation.

If that’s the case here, and I am not speculating that it is, the rejection of the Prom invitation was only a small addition to a long series (years and years) of perceived or real humiliation - often in the context of family.

I don’t know whether we are really seeing more anger and rage in the US, or that it’s reported more, but it seems that there is an increase. Just drive your car on any given day and you have a good chance of witnessing road rage and aggression.

It’s not just hispanics. I have seen black males spitting when I walk past, obviously as some kind of message to me.

Jealousy isn’t called “the green monster” for nothing.

This is making our society turn animal.

You have just insulted all animals. Animals, at least, live according to natural law and are true to their nature. Humans, intended to be divine beings, have stepped away from our true nature and have replaced it with a antithetical-false nature. When we reject the path back toward the divine and embrace the false nature, we become monsters of self-destruction. An "animal society" would, at least, embrace natural law. A monster society only embraces chaos and destruction.

“No time to shut down and recharge like I had in my childhood. Just a thought...........”
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

We need to start a new idea, everyone should spend at least one week in an environment with no electricity, no telephones, none of the things that electricity powers, flush toilets would be okay, that only requires a pumped water supply but none of the rest, no phones of any kind, no computers, no movies, no tv, meals cooked on a wood stove or outside on a camp fire. Books should be available to be read by daylight or by oil lamps at night. At the end of one week the average person would be astounded at what he has learned. Of course some would be unable to return to modern life again and others would simply collapse into insanity upon realizing just how far away from the real world they have strayed.

Personally I count myself very fortunate to have eight acres bordering a large creek with room for things to grow and people to walk around and have at least a little break from the mad, mad, mad world we live in. I don’t think I could survive long in the kind of beehive that much of the world lives in today.

I don't understand how someone could do this. Where does so much anger come from?

Hard to say /S...

Fill young minds with violent rapper songs, violent video games, moral relativism, victimology, political correctness...

There might be a pattern there...just saying...

Jealousy. It's absolutely the worst, ugliest, most destructive of the emotions. The young man probably had obsessed over the girl and eventually thought of her as his possession. When she rejected him he determined that if she couldn't be his, she could be no one's.

Couple jealousy with emotional immaturity and lack of impulse control and you can get some really nasty situations.
