Obama Subverts the Law in the Name of Clemency

So now it’s the pardon power.

To this point, in making a mockery of his core constitutional duty to execute the laws faithfully, the broad law-enforcement discretion the Constitution vests in the executive branch has been President Obama’s preferred sleight of hand. In reality, “prosecutorial discretion” is merely a resource-allocation doctrine peculiar to criminal law: a recognition of the obvious fact that enforcement resources are finite; that it is neither possible nor desirable that every penal infraction be prosecuted; and therefore that priorities must be established about which cases should be pursued, which left to state law-enforcement to handle, and which overlooked. The doctrine has never been what the president has turned it into: a license not merely to ignore but to rewrite laws — not just penal laws; any laws — with which he disagrees on policy grounds. Thus is “prosecutorial discretion” the subterfuge for usurping congressional law-making power — the maze of unilateral waivers, amendments, and whole-cloth weaving that marks Obama’s enforcement of the “Affordable” Care Act, the immigration laws, and other federal statutes.

Just like Putin in this respect Obama is pushing the envelope and will continue to do so until someone with cajones steps in to stop him. It is WAY PAST time.

Obama subverts the law in the name of politics; these characters will all vote Democrat forever.

The Democrat party purchase of the electorate proceeds apace.

Now, if they can only gain citizenship for all illegal immigrants, they’ll be in power forever.

Selective enforcement is a tool of oppression. If there are so many laws that they can not possibly all be enforced, the number of laws should be trimmed, eliminating the possibility of selective enforcement on the repealed ones, and reducing the opportunity on the remaining ones, because now there are more resources to prosecute all the violators of the remaining laws.

It has always been about pardon power. dumBO has only two powers, sign laws and issue pardons. Pardon empowers the bureaucracy to break the law with impunity.

Whatever illegal and unconstitutional acts Obama takes he has the other democrats and the media helping him all the way.

He couldn’t be the law braking, America destroying tyrant that he is without their eager help and support.

When Obama is gone from the presidency they will all still be there, ready and willing to help the next democrat president finish destroying America.

I'm going down the list, and I think this is the last box to be checked. He's done everything that he possibly can to weaken our country.

I still think he's going to try to give away as many military secrets as possible before he's done.

It’s pretty much going to take 2/3rds of both houses of congress, unless there is a conservative president, to very specifically delineate the powers and authorities vested in the POTUS, to eliminate 200 years of power grabs.

1) Things to be prohibited include: Presidential Signing Statements, Czars, recess appointments beyond the recess, presidential proclamations (land grabs), the State of the Union Address (just a written SOTU). The signing of treaties (or sub-treaty agreements) not approved by the senate.

2) Things to be restored: the Posse Comitatus Act, the War Powers Act, and prohibitive writs of mandamus to stop cabinet officers from violating the law (while it cannot force them to act, such writs can prevent them from acting, violations of which are impeachable offenses.)

These lists are far from inclusive, but are desperately needed to ‘downgrade’ the “imperial presidency” to constitutional limits.

Normally, presidents don’t pardon criminals until the last few days of their regime. Does this have a portent of the future?

Military secrets? Clinton and Hazel O’leary done away with all that a long time ago.

I was just daydreaming about this proposition:

Will the Dems run on a slogan: We’re Bringing Dopers Home.

How many votes will Obama’s Dems get for every felon pardoned vs. how many voters will be so turned off they vote against the Dem candidates?

I’m trying not to factor my own beliefs into this, but does anyone out there really believe this issue is a net win for the Dems?

No, but it doesn’t matter to the Dems. They are true believers in racial and economic equality and will allow the country to implode (USSR) while they amass great wealth then flee upon the ultimate collapse.
