Extremists getting ready to beat veterans on May 9 detained in Odesa

The Security Service of Ukraine detected and suppressed a criminal activity of an extremist and terrorist group, so-called Operative response brigade (ORB), operating since April 2014 in Odesa region.

An ORB leader, 35-year old Odesa resident, who had leaved long in Crimea, developed and published online a guidebook Take-over of Power Plan with specific recommendations concerning armed resistance to acting authorities.

The SSU revealed that in fact members of the extremist group activities were ordered by a Russian TV channel. They received reward for each action – creation a ‘picture’ required by Russian TV men.

The members of the group spread propaganda materials directed at forceful change or overthrow of the constitutional order or take-over of government, conducted different provocative actions and extremist acts, provided guidance in so called ‘Molotov’s cocktails’ production. Besides, they intimidated citizens supporting Euromaidan, set offices, houses, apartments, cars and shops on fire.

Members of the group provided cover for their activities by way of using fake license plates and prearranged signals, they were wearing masks as well.

On the night of April 19, the gang attempted to set fire to a supermarket in Odessa.

It has been established, that criminals were planning to carry out provocations in Odessa on May 9. According to them, they intended to ‘cynically terrorize’ veterans and afterwards blame for that pro-Ukrainian forces.

April 25, the SSU Officers detained 5 members of a gang while they were attempting to set one of PrivatBank branches on fire with ‘Molotov’s cocktails’.

The search of their car revealed firearms with ammunition, inflammable liquid and filming equipment which they had been using for recording their illegal activities. All items were subsequently seized by the SSU officers.

The SSU Office in Odessa region has launched a criminal proceeding into alleged crimes pertaining to Article 109 (actions aimed at forceful change or overthrow of the constitutional order or take-over of government) and Part 2 Article 194 (intentional destruction or endamagement of property) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

If you want to be on this right wing, monarchy, paleolibertarianism and nationalism ping list, but are not, please let me know. If you are on it and want to be off, also let me know. This ping list is not used for Catholic-Protestant debates; all confessions are welcome.

Lately, due to the developments in Eastern Europe, our focus is drawn to the current events there, as Ukrainian nationalism is asserting itself against Russian imperialism.

A bit of correction needed:

Ukrainian nationalism is asserting itself against Russian imperialism.

Should read

EU imperialism is asserting itself against Russian imperialism.

Ukraine is fighting for itself though. At least the nationalists in Ukraine do not want the EU either; they just see in EU at least something that belongs to the European civilization, rather than to the Putin asiatic horde.
