The Obama administration will announce “pretty soon” how it plans to remodel enforcement of the nation’s immigration laws and potentially “realign” deportation policies, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson told ABC News in an exclusive interview.
This comes a month after President Obama asked Johnson to “conduct a review of practices” to ensure “we are carrying out these policies in the most humane way possible,” as a White House spokesman put it at the time.
In an interview with ABC News’ Pierre Thomas for “This Week,” Johnson said the enforcement of immigration laws “needs to comport with American values.”
“One of those American values is respect for human dignity … [and] one of those American values is respect for the sanctity of the family unit,” Johnson told ABC News’ Pierre Thomas. When announcing the new review last month, White House spokesman Jay Carney cited, “the pain that families who are separated have been feeling as a result of deportations.”
As part of his review, Johnson said he has been talking to members of Congress, advocacy groups and his own workforce.
“We’re still in the midst of the review. And I’m consulting a wide network of people. But I expect to have something pretty soon,” Johnson said when asked when the review would be complete.

Silly me. I thought enforcement of immigration law needs to 'comport' with the LAW.
If we had a man as Speaker of the House, instead of “Sniffles the Orange Queen”, there would be Articles of Impeachment ready to move.
That is such an old fashion way of thinking. These days we have rules from the ruler, not laws. You need to get with the program!
Well, John Boehner and his cohort of RINOs will be just another element of this overall plan to weaken America and depress American living standards.

There’s a second issue here as well, beyond stopping deportations.
CBP and ICE agents are ticked at the Administrations actions that compel them to behave in a manner contrary to both the law and threir oaths, and have gone to the step of suing the President over it.
The next step will be that they give up, find other things to do, and walk away. Taking all sorts of immigration enforcement experience with them.
That sort of thing is going to be incredibly difficult to reconstitute down the road ...

I agree with you. At this point, anyone paying attention knows this is alllllll about politics (party over country) and “staying in power”. The federal government is so far detached from “we the people” it is high time we ask seriously just who is working for who and what do we want to do about it since politicians seem hell bent on replacing us at the ballot box with import.

In a post 911 world it makes NO LOGICAL SENSE to leave the boarders wide open.
Think about it this way.
How can they defend all the security at the Airports, but then at the very same time leave the boarders wide open?
If deportations stop, then I suppose some enterprising individuals could do the coyote thing in reverse...
It’s time for Americans to hit the streets with the illegal’s “today we march, tomorrow we vote” gig and demand that the ***holes in Washington stop enforcing ObamaCare and tax laws. If it’s good enough for foreign illegal aliens, it’s good enough for Americans. After all, this is STILL our country. The foreigners haven’t taken possession of it yet.
Sorry but that pos Jeh Johnson is black. We are living in black ruled America. Their intention is to dilute the white voters to get more Democrat power, more minority power.
White voters are too conservative for the Democrats. They need to be diluted, replaced, overwhelmed, swamped.
