Sarah Palin really wooed her audience at the National Rifle Associations Stand and Fight Rally, held at the Lucas Oil Stadium last Saturday night.
The former Governor of Alaska claimed that Americans constitutional rights as formulated by the founding fathers are under attack, She added that policies such as gun-free zones are stupid on steroids.
Palin, 50, said that the framers of the constitution knew that if the Second Amendment went, then the rest of the constitution would not be far behind.
In her short speech, Palin ridiculed the argument that gun stores are responsible for crime, which she compared to blaming the messenger. She said if Gun stores are an accomplice to crime, then that fork made me fat.
Sarah Palin, was chosen to be the 2008 Republican Partys vice presidential nominee by John McCains advisors. Despite not winning the election, she still enjoys broad support among elements of the partys base. The proof of that was plain for all to see (and hear!) as her reception would have made any rock star envious.
After returning to Alaska in 2008, she quit her job, alleging frivolous ethics probes and the legal costs which would be involved in fighting the allegations. She wrote a successful book, called Going Rogue, which sold over two million copies, and joined Fox News as a political commentator in 2010.
Palin has now launched a new show called Amazing America, on the Sportsman Channel.
In addition to Palin, other 2016 GOP presidential hopefuls spoke, or appeared in videotaped messages that were shown at the conference.
Palin made no effort to hide her contempt for former New York City Mayor Michael I. Bloombergs gun control proposals. She also made fun of Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr.s recent testimony on Capitol Hill.
As for Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr.s suggestion to fire off shotgun blasts into the air to scare off would-be intruders, Palins scorn was palpable: Just aim up in the air that was his directive, his advice, she said. Well, fine, Joe Squirt Gun, if your rapist is a bird.
However, Palin saved her most controversial remarks to the end, when she referred to political correctness in handling the countrys adversaries instead of putting the fear of God in our enemies.
She said that if I were in charge a line that drew applause from the crowd they would know that waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists.
There is no question that the so called civilized measures used to control terrorism dont work, since the enemy has a different set of values.
Whatever may, or may not be Sarah Palins faults, political correctness certainly isnt one of them.
As a Catholic I also believe that baptism is a holy sacrament. Dragging waterboarding into is profane.
As am I but I see the humor. Terrorists have a lot of sins to atone for. Libs believe that abortion is a sacrament.
If you announce early I'm behind you 100%.
But if you tease the GOP base for a year, fuggetaboutit, I'll already be on some other train.
Yahoo has the best commenters!! (sp?)
I have long thought it was a band of Freepers, but actually i think it’s an extremely young group of die hard Conservatives. Future Freepers.lol
Oh please. There are other types of baptism in the Bible (baptism of the Holy Ghost, etc) that the Catholic church completely ignores. So when a Catholic gets serious about what the Bible actually says about baptism instead of what some man made religion says, then MAYBE you might have a little credibility on the issue. Until then, lighten up.
Ted Kennedy. Winner of many a hard fought bottle. My he continue to rot(ferment) in Hell.
Ah bull pizzles!! We’ll draft her! Shanghai her! What ever it takes!
“Clive Bundys a racist’’. “I’m a racist/you’re a racist/wouldn’t you like to be a racist too?’’. And Al Sharpton is a paragon of equality and brotherly love. So what? That epithet has lost it’s sting. And I’m glad to see you’re not saying you’d like to ‘’hit’’ Mrs. Palin, Laz. There’s a good gentleman.
Just curious, does that include domestic terrorist as described by Harry Reid? I love Sarah, but she seemed conspicuously silent on the Bundy situation. Perhaps she didn’t want to add more controversy to the situation but trampling the Constitution is a big deal.
Isn't that refreshing! Neil Cavuto and Megyn Kelly are about the only two from Fox who aren't Politically Correct, who speak their mind and the truth. Truth and Fact can hardly ever be Fair & Balanced.....I believe opinions can be fair and balanced....
If you think the Holy Roman Catholic Church is a “man made religion” me lightning up and what ever Sarah Palin say’s is the least of your problems.
It’s not what I think, it’s what I know.
I am a (flawed) Christ follower.
The word of God (and men who follow that word) are my guides.
Nothing wrong with being a man made religion if the religion lines up to scripture. The RCC doesn’t line up to that. That’s ok. I know what is required of me to make it to eternity with Jesus and the standard that I will be judged by ....being able to read helps me know these things.
I’m not here to bash another”religion”, just making the point that me knowing the RCC is a man made religion (let’s face it they all are) is not a problem for me at all. Not one iota.
