GOP Leadership Plotting to Pass Amnesty in August, May Put AZ, TX in Play for Dems
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | April 27, 2014 | Tony Lee

Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), the House GOP Conference Chair, said that amnesty legislation could come to the floor by August.

Her comments come after multiple House Republicans have ramped up support for amnesty legislation and discussed bills they plan to introduce in the coming months.

“I believe there is a path that we get a bill on the floor by August,” McMorris Rodgers said, according to the Spokesman-Review. “We’re going to have to push that this is a legal status, not amnesty,” she said.

According to NBC 5, Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) "will soon introduce a bill that will establish a path to citizenship for the minor children of illegal immigrants and a guest worker program."

"If the only illegal act they committed was coming into the country without proper documentation we'd put them on a path to legalization," Barton said.

Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) said the Republican leadership is "as close as we have ever been" and, though "it is still a big, big, heavy lift... I think we’re going to get there.”(continued)

Get out there and vote GOP no matter what folks. It’s a lesser evil. The dems are worse.

BULLSHIT.

GOP, bring back American companies, to do American jobs.

Stop sending American jobs to China.

Bring them home. Now.

Basically all of our elected people are POS whores. That’s our evolved system. Go & vote if it makes you feel worthy. For me it’s an insult.

Very tired of the GOP cheerleaders on this site. JimRob and the mods need to can them without question QUICKLY this year. I made the mistake of voting for the lesser evil in the past, no more. Not ever again in my life.

Also, so long as the posters exist blaming me for not voting romney last election (as if I had any decent choice) and still have posting privilege; not one cent for me (and yup, I gave a whole lotta years before getting banned by one of JimRob's uppity mods). Figure it out on your own Robinson whilst allowing your site infected...

The GOP has joined the Democrats in declaring war on the American people.

The Republicans and the Democrats are two sides of the same coin.

It just gets worse and worse, the never ending betrayal.

Because massively increasing the number of Democrat voters is the top priority of leading Republican politicians.

I recall how early in the first Clinton administration there was a crackdown on illegal immigration from Haiti -- even though the Clinton campaign seemingly urged Haitians to get here anyway they could, they'd be welcomed when Bill Clinton becomes president.

Well come they did.. well at least they left Haiti. Many died trying to get here!

Clinton had to announce that he was cracking down and illegal immigrants from Haiti would no longer be allowed to stay. The deaths stopped.

Don't the ones promising amnesty see what they are doing -- how hype about amnesty have people dying to get here?

Whatever they are doing, their reasons are convoluted and certainly not for the betterment of the illegals.

The stupid party won’t just put Tx and Az in play, it could put the House
in play, as well. It is possible that if the GOP passes amnesty, millions
and millions of conservatives will stay home and not turn out in 2014 in
protest. This could put many house races, which were once safe into play.

Does the GOP really want to risk the power they now have in the house
to satisfy the chamber of Commerence?

It appears they are willing to roll the dice.

Once again, the GOP is poised to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I do blame people like you who didn't vote for Romney....ban me....I donate too....the truth hurts but our choices are limited to the primaries where we might have a semblance of power, but once the big elections are here, you support the only major opposition to the rats....

study Minn and frankin and put that on a national scale...

Point well taken Mr. Lenhart. Both parties see us as the enemy, or at least an serious impediment to a ‘transformed’ America.

My question is why do the (apparent) true conservatives in the GOP stay there, knowing full well what the Republican party's true colors are.

But Norm, we have to vote for the lessor evil. There is bad evil and very bad evil. There is a difference in bad evil and very bad evil. You know bad evil is better than very bad evil. Not much better but somewhat better. And you know bad evil is less than very bad evil.

I strongly agree with you on this.

The Tea Party badly needs to strike out, on its own.

Now. Maybe it will be as a splinter group, loyal to the GOP. Or maybe it will be as an entire new party.

But the Tea Party’s time has come.
