You can do a wire if you are in a hurry but it’s more expensive. You can send a personal check but that takes time to clear but it’s the cheapest. Money Order or Cashier’s checks clear in one day IIRC. I “assume” if all the other brokers are like E-Trade you can call and speak to someone who can help you set up your account online and answer all your questions. Ameritrade looks awfully good in that ranking, if I were to start all over again I’d probably use them.

I was considering e-trade only from advertising but I think I’ll look into Ameritrade.
