We need the minimum wage to be raised to make their lives better.
Do we really need a BLS?
Raise the import tariffs, and bring jobs back to America. Cut the income tax by an equal amount.
This IS obamas “mission accomplished” statistic.
They DO work! They sit and wait for pollsters to call and they give Obama and the Democrats highest possible marks.
A few times per year they take a bus trip to a city hall or a political rally. Their arms get tired holding up SEIU-supplied signs they can’t read but they get a box lunch out of it and a day out of the house.
I guess I can’t complain the UK anymore. They have this too. a permanent voting block for Labour
Did they back out retired persons - or are they in the 16M?
I guess Daddy Government is taking care of them all.
People have changed expectations these days.
Exit question: how long until the 80% quit working to get into on the dolce vita?
We need an honest BLS.
No, they left them in.
It is sort of like the "employed" data where they also left in the retirees but counted them as "employed" because they had an income.
I assume this includes the family at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. — The Beard, Mr. Bottom, Sushi, Malawi, and MIL from Hell.
In the sweet old country where I come from
Nobody ever works
Yeah nothing gets done
We hang fire, we hang fire
Work should be to meet your daily needs, not your wants. If this were the standard many more would join the ranks of the idle.
Excessive work is taxed away anyway, so why bother enriching others with your efforts?
Look at the time I got to get in the shower, I could be late for work!
Hmmm, 1 out of 5 families has no one in the work force according to BLS.
Lots of folks aren’t working because they don’t want to work..
It also looks like “non-sampling” data is really just a guess.
plus, whatever the heck this means...
There is about a 90-percent chance, or level of confidence, that an estimate based on a sample will differ by no more than 1.6 standard errors from the true population value because of sampling error.
with no corresponding caveat for non-sampling.br /
But... but... but... THE ONE has told me that the unemployment picture is improving and that less than 8% of people are out of work!
A trend worsening in the past half dozen years--
--and it's either because the 'no-earner' families are permanently living off gov't assistance (not good) or they're living off something else that they can't admit too (really not good).
